While most northern trails in Langlade County have been open since Dec. 31, many people that enjoy snowmobiling and riding their ATVs have been anxiously awaiting for the other trails in the county to open.

The wait is officially over.

The Langlade County Forestry Department has announced that all public trails in Langlade County will open on Friday, Jan. 9 at noon.

The department also announced that all ATVs will also be allowed on the trails beginning on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Here is the transcript from Taylor Schenk, the Recreation Coordinator for Langlade County:

All public snowmobile trails in Langlade County will be open effective at Noon on Friday, January 9, 2015 to snowmobilers.

Trails in the wooded northern and eastern parts of the county should be in good condition.  Trails in the southern part of the County, which cross plowed fields, will be in fair condition with some rough areas.  Caution and reduced speed are advised in these areas.

Also, ATV’ers will be allowed on the trails beginning Saturday, January 10, 2015.  ATV’s are not allowed on snowmobile trails when the temperature is greater than 28° F.

UTV’s are not allowed on the Langlade County Snowmobile trail system.
