Beverly Ann Walters, 83
Beverly Ann Walters, lifelong White Lake resident, died at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation on Saturday, February 14, 2015. She was 83 years old.
She was born March 12, 1931 in White Lake, daughter of the late Ervin Rudolph and Clara (Ruhbush) Yanke. She married LaVern “Sonny” Walters on March 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2007.
Mrs. Walters graduated from White Lake High School in 1949. She worked as a telephone operator in her younger years. Along with her sister in law, Elaine Beery, she worked at supper clubs up north, where they met many celebrities. She was later employed at Diercks potato farm in White Lake. She then worked at the Yawkey Bissell flooring mill in White Lake for 30 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, canning, crafts, and cooking. Every holiday the family would get together at her house, and they especially enjoyed the 4th of July parties she hosted. She especially loved her cats.
She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her 4 children, Garrett Walters of Wausau, Gay Ann (Danny) Trepanier of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Gregg (fiancé Gail Geiger) Walters of Antigo, and Glenda (Bill) Cunningham of Polar; 3 grandchildren, Alan Hutchens of Kenosha, Kevin Hutchens of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Justin Cunningham of Madison; and a brother, Erv (Maxine) Yanke of Brookfield.
She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Walters; her former husband, LaVern “Sonny” Walters; and her parents.
A memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Vaudt officiating. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Langlade Cemetery.
A memorial will be established in her name.
