2015 State Bowling Championship Results
High School State Bowling Championships were Friday through Sunday in Madison at Prarie Lanes and Bowl-A-Vard. In Division II, Antigo boys took 3rd place, Antigo girls took 6th place.
Boys Head Coach Trevor McCarthy had the follow to say about the boys performance:
“The Antigo Boys Varsity Bowling team had a stellar performance at the state bowling tournament in Madison this past weekend. Averaging 208 over 15 games, they advanced into the championship rounds. In the championships, they averaged 222 earning them a 3rd place finish out of 25 teams in Division 2. I couldn’t be more pleased and proud of their performance at the state championships and the entire season. Nick Arrowood capped off his senior year with an outstanding showing in the boys singles tournament. Nick placed 11th out of 97 in the boys division competing against the best bowlers from around the state.” Nick averaged 218.
“Graduating this year are seniors James Gervais and Nick Arrowood . It has been amazing to watch their talent from the start of middle school through their high school years. I am proud to have been their coach and wish all the best for them. Completing the team were junior Ryan McCarthy, sophomore Collin Schedlbauer, and freshman Chris Arrowood and Michael Zabrowski. With such young and experienced talent on our team, I anticipate more successful bowling seasons going forward. I am again so proud of our team and thank them for letting me be a part of their lives. It has been an absolute pleasure! “
Girls Head Coach Bill McFarlane had these comments about the girls:
“The girls gave it everything they had this weekend and in the end we came up just short of our goal to get back to the finals. On a tough shot we just missed qualifying for the top 5 stepladder final by 18 pins. It came down to the 10th frame of the last game but we were unable to carry. They averaged 176 for the 15 baker games. Our only Senior, Rebecca Duchac, qualified for singles and finished 32nd out of 57, she averaged 195. The girls had another great season and we are already looking forward to the challenge of making it back to state again next year. We have a strong team coming back including Juniors Zoe Orgeman and Hailey Robinson, Sophomores Allivia Zoern and Theresa Webb and Freshman Molly Fermanich and Riley Krueger.”
