James Boyd, 92
James “Jim” Boyd, of White Lake, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. He was 92 years old. He was born on January 25, 1923 in White Lake, a son of the late Robert and Ethel (Fraley) Boyd. He married Sylvia Keso on November 21, 1954 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2012.
Mr. Boyd is a World War II veteran having served in the United States Air Force stationed in Europe.
Jim owned a FINA Station in Roswell, New Mexico. In 1977 he moved to Antigo at worked as a mechanic at Langlade Ford. Following his retirement he continued to work on cars in his garage at home.
Mr. Boyd has a passion for country western music. His band “Jim Boyd and the Country Play Boys” played for many years in the area including the Hodag Music Festival
He enjoyed camping with family and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include daughter, Penny (Dan) Rustick of Bryant; son, Jimmy Boyd of Slinger; five grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda) Rustick, Dayna (fiancé Michael Enright) Rustick, Brandi (Logan) Fleischman, Ashton Boyd, Destanie Boyd; two great-grandchildren, Iliana Haugh and Mackenzie Enright; four sisters, Bobbie (Larry) Meeks of Antigo, Sue (Sam) Cangemi of Waukegan, IL, Linda (Peter) Bowler of Kenosha and Neomi Rane of Madison.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Cody Boyd, six brothers, Allie, Robert Lee Jr., William, Daniel, Terrance and Mike; and six sisters, Zeneth Boyd, Patricia Pauluasky, Charlotte Erhart, Ina Blakley, Mary Boyd and Mary Holbrook.
A private family service will take place on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home.
