Marianne Elizabeth Deede, 76

Marianne Elizabeth Deede, of Antigo, died Friday, February 27, 2015, after a very short battle with cancer. She was 76 years old.

She was born October 7, 1938 in Goodman, daughter of the late Ted and Elizabeth Wolosyn. She married Richard Deede on March 15, 1959 in Milwaukee.

The family moved to Antigo in 1970, where they operated Richmadee Farms until their retirement.

Marianne was known as the plant lady and shared plants with many friends, neighbors, and family members. Marianne, along with her husband, Richard, donated property where the Polar Recreation Park was started. They started the “Field of Dreams” on the hillside located by the ballpark. She also enjoyed quilting with her friends at Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo. Marianne was also known for her baking and gardening.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Timothy (Penny) Deede of Antigo; 2 daughters, Virginia Michels of Shawano (special friend Kevin Groehler) , and Ruth (Dan) Rettinger of Bryant; 9 grandchildren, Bobbi Deede of Antigo (special friend Tim Jacobs), Teri Deede of Antigo, Jordan Madary of Oshkosh, Ben (Sara) Michels, Jonathan Michels, and Jacob Michels, all of Madison, Elizabeth (Rick) Christian of Theresa, and Amanda Rettinger of Bryant (special friend Greg Lifke); 4 great-grandchildren, Conner, Taylee, Daisy, and Chevy; 9 siblings, Thedore Wolosyn, Jr. of Denver, CO, Barbara (Ray ) Gudowicz of Genoa City, Antonette (Gene) Nelson of Goodman, Edward (Carrie) Wolosyn of Racine, Stanley (Pattie) Wolosyn of Salt Lake City, UT, Richard (Joyce) Wolosyn of Fence, Bernard (Paula) Wolosyn of De Pere, Margaret (Paul) Petersen of Luck, and Robert (Michelle) Wolosyn of Houston, TX; 3 sisters-in-law, Ardis (Duane) Schreiber, Joan (Richard) LaRock, and Claudia Deede; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryon Deede; brothers-in-law, Robert and John Deede; and sisters-in-law Marilyn Deede, and Judi Wolosyn.

In accordance with Marianne’s wishes, a private, family service will take place with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. A public memorial gathering will take place at the Polar Recreation Park on June 14.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Marianne’s name.
