Mary Jo Martiny, 74
Mary Jo Martiny, of Pearson, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Langlade Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1940 in Antigo, daughter of the late Ervin and Ella (Benishek) Martiny.
Ms. Martiny graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1958. She was employed as a machinist at the Polar lumber mill, tying flies for Sheldon’s, and most recently feeding calves for Maly Farm. She loved animals, and she particularly enjoyed her work at the farm.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Baker of Birnamwood; a son, Steven (Debbie) Baker of Kempster; a sister, Jean Martiny of Antigo; a brother, Philip (Nell) Martiny of Antigo; and a sister-in-law, Katie Martiny of Antigo; and a brother-in-law, Ron Dimond; 7 grandchildren, Travis Meister, Tawnie Beer, Lena Steber, Douglas Meister-West, Jedediah Breitenfeldt, Jennifer Baker-Schillings, and Nathan Baker; 10 great-grandchildren, NovaLee Juel, Talon Juel, VegaRay Beer, Sören Beer, Gryphon Beer, Lincoln Steber, BuCannon Steber, Case Meister, Tylor Schillings, Conghner Schillings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Ellen, Margaret, Gail, Doris; and 2 brothers, Richard and James.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Fr. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
