Herbert Lindner, of Antigo, died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 83. He was under the care of Our Special Family Adult Family Home, and LeRoyer Hospice.

He was born August 22, 1931, son of the late Herbert Frederick and Eleanore (Taube) Lindner. He married Betty Kakes on Oct. 22, 1955 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2012.

Mr. Lindner graduated from Waterford High School. Following high school, he served in the US Marine Corps. He worked as a professional painter in the Milwaukee area, and after his retirement in 1991 he moved to Antigo.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He loved to follow his grandchildren in their sports.

Mr. Lindner was a dedicated member of Ascension Lutheran Church, and he will be remembered as a devout Christian.

Survivors include his sons, Keith (Beth) Lindner of Antigo, Jeff (Donna) Lindner of Oak Creek; 4 grandchildren, Amy, Alison, Kimberly (Jake), Joshua; 4 great-grandchildren, Conner, Jacob, Bella, and Grayson; and a sister, Shirley Beres of Libertyville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Ascension Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Spaude officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, and 10:00-11:00 Thursday at the church. Military honors and committal will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.

A memorial will be established in Herb’s name.
