Lorraine Strandberg
Lorraine Strandberg, longtime Antigo resident died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Waukesha, at the age of 92 years. Born April 19, 1922 in Racine, she was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Alice (Brose) Fara. Raised in Wausau, she attended and was a graduate of Wausau High School.
Lorraine married Ralph Strandberg on June 12, 1948 in Wausau. The couple lived in Milwaukee for a short time before moving to Antigo to raise their family.
Loving Mother of Patricia Schubert, Madison; and Thomas (Paula) Strandberg, Pewaukee; loving Grandmother of Lauren Schubert, Leah (Cody) Cry, Bradley, Jarod and Carolyn Strandberg. Further survived by lifelong friend Shirley Francken, Wausau.
Mrs. Strandberg was a member of the Langlade County Attorney Wives Association and worked as an election poll worker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and served on the funeral dinner committee. In 2012 she moved to Waukesha to be near family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Circuit Court Judge Ralph J. Strandberg on August 15, 1980; her daughter, Joan Jarzembinski; and her sister Lois Moss.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church in Hoffmann Hall on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to your favorite charity are appreciated.
