Norman J Cejka, 81

Norman J Cejka, of Antigo, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old. He was born on December 18, 1933 in Antigo, a son of John and Edna (Person) Cejka. He married Angeline “Angie” Bula on June 23, 1955 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1951.

Mr. Cejka operated a dairy farm from 1955-1966 in the town of Antigo. He served on the town of Antigo Town Board as clerk for six years. He worked at the Kraft plant in Antigo for three years.

From 1969 until retirement in 1995 he served as Langlade County Clerk. He was a member and past president of the Wisconsin County Clerks Association.

Mr. Cejka served on the town of Rolling Town Board as chairman the past 16 years. He completed 48 years of public service having been elected this month to public office for his 25th term.

He enjoyed mowing lawn, hunting, fishing, and trips to Branson, MO and his condo in Minoqua.

Survivors including his wife are four daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Strube, Eau Claire, Janice Cejka, Antigo, Lynn (John) Ridley, Kenosha, JoAnn “JoJo” (Matthew) Ahles, Lino Lakes, MN; a son, Dale (Anne) Cejka, Wausau; eight Grandchildren, Abbie (Paul) Statz, Nicholas (Megan) Strube, John Cejka, Lauren Cejka, Ryan Ridley, Caleb, Jacob and Christopher Ahles; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Strube; a sister, Virginia Rammer, Merrill.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 – 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday also at the funeral home.
