The AHS Symphonic Band included a piece entitled “Earhart – Sounds of Courage”, based on the story of Amelia Earhart, which continues to capture the imaginations of aviators and historians worldwide. They also performed “Crystals”, a one-movement tone poem, divided into four sections that each musically represent a type of crystal. One member of the band played a didgeridoo, and the percussion section even submerged a large gong in a tub of water.
