Reverend Charles Shebuski, of Green Bay, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 30, 2015. He was 77 years old. He was born on January 31, 1938 in Antigo, a son of Stanley and Clara (Draeger) Shebuski.

He graduated from Jeffers High School in Painesdale, Michigan, attended Junior College at Mount Calvary Seminary and received his philosophy and theology degree from St. Francis de Sales Seminary in St. Francis, Wisconsin.

On May 29, 1965 he was ordained at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay by the Most Reverend Stanislaus V. Bona, Bishop of Green Bay. Fr. Shebuski was preparing to celebrate his Golden Jubilee this month.

Fr. Shebuski served as Assistant Pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish, Florence, and for five years at St. Margaret Mary Parish, Neenah. He served as Associate Pastor/Parochial Vicar at St. Bernard Parish, Green Bay from July 1, 1970 to June 20, 1973 at which time he was appointed Pastor of St. James Parish, White Lake with mission at St. Stanislaus, Langlade. From August 20, 1975 to October 22, 1981 he served as Pastor at St. Rose Parish, Clintonville. He served as Field Advocate in Marriage Tribunal during the 1980’s. On August 12, 1989 he received the assignment as Associate Pastor/Parochial Vicar, at St. Joseph Parish, Green Bay. He served as Administrator at St. Killian Parish, New Franken from August 1, 1991 to July 1, 1993 then began serving as Administrator at SS Peter and Paul Parish, Weyauwega. On his 70th birthday in 2008 he obtained Senior Priest Status. As a Senior Priest he served as Sacramental Minister to St. Martin, Cecil. He resided at Grellinger Hall in Allouez, enjoyed working with senior citizens in Green Bay and continued to serve parishes, especially with Confessions and the Sacrament of the Sick.

He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Europe and the Holy Land.

Survivors include three sisters, Nora Winscher, Hammond, Indiana, Audrey (Jack) Ellison, Milwaukee, Karen Renier, South Range, Michigan; three brothers, Jack Shebuski, Wausau, Donald (Lenore) Shebuski, Manitowish Waters, Daniel (Gene) Shebuski, Prior Lake, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Shebuski, Antigo and Jeanne Shebuski, Hubertus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Mae Langenbach, and Helen Shebuski; two brothers, Robert and William Shebuski.

A service of reception will be held at 5 p.m. Monday May 4, 2015 at SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo (819 Third Ave.) which will begin the visitation. The visitation will conclude with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. and resume again on Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with The Most Reverend David L. Ricken, Bishop of Green Bay, Celebrant
and Bishops Robert Morneau and Robert Banks, Concelebrants. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo.
Bradley Funeral Home in Antigo is assisting the family with arrangements.
