Jerome “Jerry” Stern, 94
Jerome “Jerry” Stern, of Antigo, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at Homme Home in Wittenberg. He was 94 years old. He was born on March 24, 1921 in Antigo, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Babler) Stern. He married Marie Ladwig on February 14, 1942 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. She survives.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School.
Mr. Stern served in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in Northern Africa as a radio technician.
He owned Stern Electronics in Antigo for 50 years.
Mr. Stern was a member of St. John Catholic Church
He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, hunting and new cars.
In addition to his wife survivors include daughter, Gayle Koszarek of Antigo; two sons, Robert (Patricia) Stern of Pelican Lake and William (Victoria) Stern of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Dumaine “Red” (Judy) Turney of Antigo, Darrell Turney of New Holstein and Melvin (Jane) Turney of San Antonio, TX; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Stern and sister, Lorraine Keys.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum where Antigo veterans will conduct military honors. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
