Road Construction Update In Langlade County

Highway: WIS 47 (*added*)

Location: South Rollwood Road to Pond Street

Schedule: May 18, 2015 to July 25, 2015

Cost: $1.2 million

Description: Crews will replace the WIS 47 bridge over the Red River (Phlox). Crews will also extend the box culvert on WIS 47 over the West Branch of the Red River (Norwood) and remove the existing guardrail. Additional improvements include installation of sidewalk on the north side of WIS 47, erosion control, and the construction of a retaining wall.

Traffic impacts:

Norwood

  • Crews will close WIS 47 between South Rollwood Road and Trout Road on Monday, May 18 at 8 a.m. to install a temporary culvert pipe. During the closure traffic will be detoured via US 45, WIS 64, and WIS 55. WIS 47 will reopen on Tuesday, May 19 at 8 a.m.
  • Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures and temporary traffic signals on WIS 47 between South Rollwood Road and Trout Road.

Phlox

  • On Monday, May 18, crews will close WIS 47 between Hillview Road and Pond Street for the replacement of the bridge. Traffic will be detoured via US 45, WIS 64, and WIS 55.
