Dave Bauknecht, 68
Dave Bauknecht, of Deerbrook, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home. He was 68 years old. He was born on March 5, 1947 in Antigo, a son of the late Edmund and Viola (Getchell) Bauknecht. He married Charlene Gallenberg on November 27, 1965 at St. John Catholic Church.
Dave graduated from Antigo High School in 1965. He worked in the trucking industry both driving and dispatching prior to operating the Kackle Shack in 1986. He owned and operated Three Jokers Lounge with his wife for the past 17 years.
He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 662 in Antigo and the Langlade County Tavern League.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, motorcycling and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters, Renee (Kris) Beckwith of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Michelle (Dan) Hafner of Deerbrook; son, Dan (Kristie) Bauknecht of Verona; six grandchildren, Ty and Lynnzie Beckwith, Mikkalyn and Aidan Hafner, Sam and Gabe Bauknecht; a sister, Patricia (Don) Gaudette of Deerbrook; two brothers, Thomas (Rosemary) Bauknecht of Antigo and John (Jane) Bauknecht of Gore, Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie Kramer of Crandon, Shirlee (Larry) Welch of Antigo, Donna (Glenn) Piatt of Ill., Rita (Dave) Kuhr of Phlox, Carol (Tom) Selmo of Bryant, Phyllis (Tim) Karpf of Antigo, Nancy (Kirk) Elliott of Antigo, Rose (Neal) Summ of Bryant, Mae (Joe) Walkup of Yulee, Fla., Dan (Lila) Gallenberg of Antigo, Jim (Paula) Gallenberg of Antigo and Joe (Jodi) Gallenberg of Keshena; and close friends, Tom and Debbie Elst of Antigo.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Kramer; mother and father-in-law, Art and Martha Gallenberg; and brother-in-law, Willie Gallenberg.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Burial will take place in St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery, Neva. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. An Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
