National Night Out August 4th 4:30-6:30pm Forest County Sheriff’s Department, 100 South Park Avenue, Crandon. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Events include kid’s games, dunk tank, food, bake sale, bike rodeo, archery lessons, bounce house, prizes, taser demo, police, fire & EMS equipment & more. Antigo Tater Trot August 8th 8:30-11am Antigo City Park, located 4 blocks east of Hwy 45 on Aurora St., Antigo. 10K & 1 mile runs, a 4-mile timed walk/run. Start & finish at Antigo City Park. Paved streets & country roads with short sections of gravel. Course is flat & fast. Chip timing, mile markers, & water stations provided. 1-Mile Fun Run 8:30am start, 10k Competitive Run 9am start, & the 4 Mile Run/Walk 9:05am start. TrANS (Transportation Alliance for New Solutions) Program FREE Construction Class August 10th 3051 Sand Lake Rd., Crandon. This is a FREE 6 week construction class that is 120-140 hours long, 9am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday & the first 4 Fridays 8:30-Noon. Through this program, Forward Service Corporation provides services to prepare individuals for employment as laborers in the road construction industry & building trades. To be in the program you must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation & be 18 yrs. or older. There are no income requirements.
