Governor Scott Walker today announced a $3,530,075 project to reconstruct the center parking lot and landscape the terminal area at Central Wisconsin Airport. In addition to reconstructing the pavement of 988 parking stalls, the current lighting will be replaced with more efficient LED lighting, canopies will be installed over revenue control stations, and new revenue control stations will be installed for the parking lot. This project will result in increased revenue and reduced operating costs and a safer more efficient facility for airport users.

Ryan Donnelly, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said that this fifth phase of the project will complete the overall renovation of the terminal area. The improvements will increase revenue coming into Central Wisconsin and make it easier for airport users to move through the airport.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $2,048,000
  • Marathon and Portage counties = $1,482,075

Work on the project is expected to be completed by October.

Central Wisconsin Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
