Langlade County

Highway: WIS 17

Location: Lincoln County CCC to Dump Road (Langlade County)

Schedule: May 26, 2015 to late July 2015

Cost: $1.7 million

Description: Crews will resurface the roadway, repair four culvert pipes, and replace four culvert pipes along WIS 17. Additional improvements include reconstructing the WIS 17/Lincoln County B intersection, lengthening the northbound bypass lane at the intersection of WIS 17/First Lake Road, reinstalling centerline rumble strips, and replacing the guard rail at County CCC.

Traffic impacts: Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures, flagging operations, and temporary traffic signals.

Highway: WIS 47

Location: South Rollwood Road to Pond Street

Schedule: May 18, 2015 to July 25, 2015

Cost: $1.2 million

Description: Crews will replace the WIS 47 bridge over the Red River (Phlox). Crews will also extend the box culvert on WIS 47 over the West Branch of the Red River (Norwood) and remove the existing guardrail. Additional improvements include installation of sidewalk on the north side of WIS 47, erosion control, and the construction of a retaining wall.

Traffic impacts:

Norwood

  • Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures and temporary traffic signals on WIS 47 between South Rollwood Road and Trout Road.

Phlox

  • WIS 47 is closed between Hillview Road and Pond Street for the replacement of the bridge. Traffic is detoured via US 45, WIS 64, and WIS 55.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution in the work zone and should be prepared to encounter slow moving trucks. Motorists should slow down, use caution and stay alert when driving through construction zones. To avoid delays, consider taking an alternative route and avoid peak travel periods.

Construction-related traffic impacts are subject to change and are dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
