American Red Cross responds to fire at transitional hotel in Wausau
The local American Red Cross is responding to a fire at the 2101 Grand Avenue, Wausau facility which is a transitional hotel. The 16-unit facility houses 26-people and all will be displaced. At this hour, we are providing dinner for the residents and we are in the process of determining the shelter location.
Once the shelter opens, guests will be notified of its location.
The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other personal hygiene items.
American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of trained volunteers.
