You already know them; we want to know who they are! Tell us about these selfless people! Identify an outstanding individual volunteer for the 2015 Antigo First Volunteer of the Year Award. Individuals, non-profit agencies, or civic groups may nominate someone. You are welcomed to submit more than one nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 4, 2015.

Awards will be presented by the Antigo First group during their 1st Annual Volunteer Appreciation Day event on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at City Park West at 6:30pm. Food will be available starting at 4pm and the local band Jagged Highway will be performing from 5:30pm until 10pm at the gazebo. Applications will be reviewed and selected recipients will receive recognition in one of the following four areas:

  1. Youth: Services/programs for children in our community and/or youth performing volunteer services.
  1. Seniors: Services/programs for citizens 55 and older.
  1. Social Services: Health and human services/programs for all ages (food, clothing, and product distribution; handicapped and mental health assistance).
  1. Community Enrichment/Environment/Education: Furthering the visual and/or performing arts for everyone; supporting the environment including animal welfare.

Nominees should have completed a “grass roots” type effort (during 2014/15) on a particular project (e.g. direct involvement versus fundraising, serving on boards, committees, etc.). Focus will be on “people-to people” type volunteer work. There is no age limit.

Accompanying letters in support of nomination(s) are encouraged. Nomination forms are available at CoVantage Credit Union, Lakeside Market, Neve’s Floors To Go Furniture & Mattress Gallery, and can be found below.

Bring nominations to Neve’s or mail to Antigo 1st Inc., P.O. Box 302, Antigo, WI 54409.

Organizations are encouraged to donate a quality gift item for the Paddle-Wheel raffle. (Deliver your gift to Neve’s Furniture or bring to the event) and Antigo First will donate the proceeds from that item to your service organization.
