John Edward Chrudimsky, 65

John Edward Chrudimsky, of Antigo, died with his wife and family at his side on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 65 years old. He was born on January 7, 1950 in Antigo, a son of Geraldine (Guth) Chrudimsky of Antigo and the late George Chrudimsky. He married Jeanette Schmidt on August 6, 1983 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mattoon. She survives.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1968 and attended North Central Technical College in Antigo completing the Machine Tooling Program. He was employed at Amron Corporation in Antigo for the past 46 years as Quality/Tooling Engineer.

John served in the United States Army for two years having been stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Aniwa, where he will be remembered as the longtime chef at the church picnic.

He was a member of the Msgr. Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002-Antigo.

John was a cancer survivor having beaten stage 4 Hodgkins thirty years ago and since 2010 battled renal cancer. He was active with the Antigo Relay for Life for the past 15 years as a volunteer and participating as a cancer survivor.

He enjoyed gardening, collecting Budweiser Stein’s, and following the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother are four sisters, Mary (John) Schmoll, Antigo, Jane (Jerome) Keen, Aniwa, Betty (Tim) Gervais, Antigo, Rose Chrudimsky, Antigo; six brothers, George (Kathy) Chrudimsky, Aniwa, Dave (Joanne) Chrudimsky, Antigo, Mike (Jeanne) Chrudimsky, Merrill, Robert (Kathy) Chrudimsky, Aniwa, Eugene (Karen) Chrudimsky, Antigo, Randy Chrudimsky, Aniwa; he is also survived by his wife’s family Suzette (Ronald) Schwanz, Wisconsin Rapids, Judy (Ronald) Beyersdorf, Marion, Francis (Fern) Schmidt, Mattoon, Roger Schmidt, Antigo, Jim Schmidt, Menasha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, and father and mother-in-law, Francis and Anna Schmidt.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Holy Family Cemetery, Mattoon where military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be 3:30 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 – 10 a.m. on Thursday also at the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home.

A memorial fund is being established in John’s name.
