Shawn T. Wickersheim, 29, of White Lake died as a result of a single vehicle accident on Thursday, August 6, 2015. He was born March 18,1986 son of Jeffrey and Rhonda (Messer) Wickersheim.
Shawn attended White Lake Schools and graduated from high school in 2004. He continued his education at Finlandia University and graduated with degrees in business and sports management in 2008.
While attending Finlandia University he competed as a three-sport athlete having received the Lion Award for academic achievement as a student athlete.
Throughout his life Shawn was a very active sports enthusiast. He had a fierce competitiveness about him that was contagious to his teammates regardless of the field or court he was playing on. Shawn’s dream was to someday coach at the collegiate level. There are many individuals that looked up to Shawn as a mentor and leader.
More than anything, Shawn had an unmatched sense of humor, a desire to give to others, and genuine compassion to make everyone’s life better.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Rhonda; brothers: Benjamin (Tara)Wickersheim and Sam (fiancé Maureen) Wickersheim; nieces: Haedyn and Adalee Wickersheim; maternal grandmother, Ethel Messer; paternal grandparents, Larry and Delores Wickersheim. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, and many, many, many cousins.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cletis Messer.
Please join the family at Polar Ball Park, Hwy S, Polar, on Friday, August 14, 2015 to celebrate the life of Shawn beginning at 3 pm with the memorial service to be held at 7 pm.
