Safe Night Out event is meant to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and teaching our youth and families how to be safe. Free meal & goodies! Kids’ activities, informational safety booths, Antigo Fire Department & Antigo Police Department challenge. Families are encouraged to attend. Presented by the Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County. Healthy Ways Fall Walk September 16th 3-5pm Springbrook Trail Boardwalk, Second Ave., Antigo.
Do you enjoy being outside, strolling along a scenic boardwalk with a view of water areas & wildlife? Join us at the Little League parking lot on 2nd Avenue for a walk to encourage exercise for the community & enjoy the fall colors along the walkway. Car Show Cook-Out September 16th 4-7pm Peace Lutheran School, 300 Lincoln St., Antigo. Great classic cars on display with food, activities for the kids and drawings every half hour. During the Car Show Cook-out, Chrysler will make a $10 cash contribution for every test drive right here at the school. Help raise some real money for the school! 1st Annual Kendal Bug Shuffle September 19th 6:30-7:30am registration. Walk begins at 8am. Cardinal Park, Crandon. A fun run/walk designed for casual runners, walkers and joggers. The Kendal Bug Shuffle 3K is locally organized & 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
16th Annual Lakes & Leaves Bike Ride September 19th 8am Summit Lake Park, Hwy. 45 N, Summit Lake. Join us for a ride through the spectacular scenery of northern Langlade County! With 4 different route lengths (6, 18, 38, & 62-mile) we have something for everyone. Friday, September 18, 2014 is a meet & greet at the Refuge Restaurant (Corner of Hwy 45 & 64) from 5 pm to 7 pm to meet fellow riders, pick up your T-shirt, & route map. Appetizers will be provided. Pre-registered and non-registered riders must check in between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday at Summit Lake Park located 17 miles north of Antigo off Hwy 45 N in Summit Lake. Out of Darkness Walk to End Suicide September 19th Springbrook Trail Boardwalk, Second Ave., Antigo. The walk starts at Lake Park and participants will walk the Springbrook Trail to spread awareness of suicide statistics and raise money for the American Society for Suicide Prevention.
20th Annual Parade of Homes September 19th Noon-4pm. The Langlade Hospital Auxillary is sponsoring the Annual Parade of Homes. Take a road trip & enjoy touring 5 beautiful. The following homes are featured: Billy & Judy Cousineau, Bart & Tiffany Kneeland, David & Sheila Manney, Jim & Carol Schairer, and Andy & Jinny Waldvogel. Tickets are available at: Aspirus Langlade Hospital, Volunteer Desk, Backes Food Mart, Lakeside Market, Neve’s Flooring to Go Furniture & Mattress Gallery, and Schroeder’s Gifts. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 on day of show. Sign up at each home for a chance to win a gift certificate.
