McTeacher’s Night is a special evening for schools & McDonald’s to raise funds for programs, equipment or any other special projects. Teachers will work side by side with McDonald’s employees. At the end of the evening, 20% of the sales will be donated to their school!

Pelican Lake Women’s Civic Club Style Show October 8th 11am Holiday Acres, 4060 South Shore Dr., Rhinelander. Lunch will be served at noon followed by the style show. Club members and friends will model fashions provided by area merchants. Silent raffles, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle will be held also. Northwoods Art Tour October 9th-11th 10am-5pm Northwoods Galleries & Studios. Stretching from Presque Isle & Land O Lakes in the north to as far South as Irma & Elcho, the tour encompasses Vilas, Oneida, Iron, Langlade & Lincoln Counties. Visitors are invited to enjoy self-guided drives through the scenic back roads of the Northwoods & stop at over 30 studios & galleries of area painters, photographers, potters, furniture makers, wood carvers, jewelers & fiber artists. There will be artist demonstrations & an opportunity to purchase original work directly from the artist. Laona Class of 2017 5th Annual Fall Craft Fair October 10th 9am-2pm Laona High School gym, 5216 Forest St., Laona. This event will feature art, crafts, pumpkin decorating, face painting, games for the kids and a variety of food. The class will be serving chili, brats, hot sandwiches & baked goods. There will also be a food drive. Receive an entry in the door prize raffle with every non-perishable food item. All items are donated to the local food pantry.
3rd Annual Wellness Walk at the Rat River Trail October 10th Registration at 9:30am Blackwell Town Hall, 3696 Flanner Lane, Blackwell. “All In For Fitness.” Best poker hand will receive a grand prize. A hot beef lunch will be provided at 11:30am. Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to NEWCAP pantry. Sponsored by the Town of Blackwell, the Laona Homemakers & Forest Co. Crooked Lake/Mountain Lions Club 6th Annual Oktoberfest October 10th starting at 11am, Community Center, Hwy. W, Crooked Lake (9 miles east of Mountain & 20 miles west of Crivitz). Come stroll through the beer garden & shop for craft items, enjoy pumpkin decorating, take a hayride or participate in the minnow races. Meat raffle at Noon. Dinner will be served from 1-5pm, consisting of roasted pig, stuffing, sauerkraut, German potato salad, baby reds, applesauce, marble rye bread & black forest cake.
