CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WIND SYMPHONY TO PERFORM

The Concordia University Wind Symphony will perform in Antigo on October 24th as part of its annual fall concert tour. The Wind Symphony is conducted by Richard Fischer, Distinguished Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Music at Concordia University Chicago.
The ensemble will perform at Peace Lutheran Church, 300 Lincoln St, Antigo, WI on Saturday, October 24th at 7:30pm. The Wind Symphony is the premier instrumental ensemble at Concordia University Chicago. This 54-member organization maintains an active performance schedule, having performed in schools, churches, and concert halls in 43 states, Canada, Eastern Europe and most recently in China. Two years ago, the Wind Symphony was invited and played at Carnegie Hall in March during the New York Wind Band Festival. Additionally, this group has a commitment to the finest traditional and contemporary, sacred and secular repertoire. To date, the Wind Symphony has recorded fourteen CDs of sacred music.
A variety of music in many forms and styles, programmed for wide audience appeal, will make this event a pleasure for everyone. Admission is free; however, a freewill offering will be received. For additional information please contact David Reineke at (715) 623-2200.
