Carol Hintt, 70
Carol Hintt, of Deerbrook, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at her home at the age of 70. She was born on April 26, 1945 in Kewaunee, a daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (LaVassor) Vertz.
She attended Antigo High School.
As a young mother, Carol worked in Elgin, Illinois as a waitress and school bus driver to support her growing family. In the late 1980s, she relocated to Antigo to be closer to her extended family. While in Antigo she worked retail sales, retiring in 2009.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her Two Angels friends and decorating her home for every holiday. She looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and “grandpets.”
Survivors include two daughters, Laurie “Red” (Ed) Barnes, Belvidere, IL, Deanna (partner Shana Holtz) Palushik, Wasco, IL; son, Jason (Emily) Hintt, Antigo; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Joyce Sense, Joann (Dennis) Sutte, Sally Mueller, Edith Andersen, Sharon (George “Lucky”) Short; five brothers, Alfred (Bonnie) Vertz, Delbert (Illa) Vertz, Willard (Arlene) Vertz, Ervin (special friend Genie) Vertz, Dale Demine; brother-in-law, Chuck Hintt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shari Ann Vertz (Denke), sister, Charlotte Vertz, brothers, Walter, Jr., and Donald Vertz.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Engebretson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of services all at the Bradley Funeral Home
