Tennes Le Roy Nelson, age 86, of Antigo, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center.

Tennes was born December 28, 1928 to the late Henning and Selma (Bergwin) Nelson in Craig, Nebraska.

He served in the US Navy. Upon returning from service he worked in Chicago and came to Antigo on weekends to work on his father’s farm.

He was united in marriage to Joanne Huber on March 30, 1957 in Chicago, IL. The couple lived in Lansing, IL, where Tennes was employed by Hyster Lift Trucks. Following retirement, they moved to Antigo in 2004.

He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and playing cards.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include his three children, Debra (Gary) Van Duyn of Lansing, IL, Craig Nelson of Antigo and Beth (Mark) Gass of Antigo; 9 grandchildren, Kristin (Joshua) Wadkins, Adam (Nicole) Van Duyn, Matthew Van Duyn, April, Carl, Sofia and Erik Nelson and Jodi and Julie Gass; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Tennes was preceded in death by a daughter Angela Lynn Nelson, a sister and 6 brothers.
Funeral service in Antigo will be held on Thursday at 7:30 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 PM until the service at the funeral home.

Services in Lansing, IL will be held on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 PM until the service at the funeral Home.
