Vivian Julia Simon, 92
Vivian Julia Simon, age 92, of Antigo died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, WI.
Vivian was born on August 6, 1923 in Antigo a daughter of the late Gustav H. and Theresa F. (Straka) Blemke.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1940 and went on to further her education at Antigo Vocational School. She went on to work as a secretary at the Antigo Milk Plant, and Peace Lutheran Church. She was later employed as a legal secretary for Attorney Durfee, and then worked for Attorney James Whiting for 23 years.
On February 7, 1944, she was united in marriage to John M. Simon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Summit. John preceded her in death on February 24, 2008.
Vivian was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Altar Guild and Dorcas Society.
Survivors include 4 children, Thomas (Cindy) Simon of Oregon, WI, Sally Kidwell of New Bern, NC, Peggy Simon of Houston, TX, Pamela (John) Roffler of Eau Claire, WI; 5 grandchildren, Kim Kidwell, Karrie (Scott) Hanford, Seth Roffler, Luke (Jenn) Roffler, and Jessica Simon; and 7 great grandchildren, Cal, Faith, Ellie, Marlee, and Simon Hanford, and Annika and Evelyn Roffler.
In addition to her husband and parents, Vivian was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leo and Clarence Blemke, and a granddaughter, Mary Roffler.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend David Karolus will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery.
