Antigo Athletes of the Week
Antigo High School
Allivia is on the girls’ varsity bowling team and is very well liked by her teammates because of her attitude, leadership and work ethic. She is a leader on our team and sets an example for other players by working hard in the classroom and in practice. This hard work helps her to be able to make adjustments on the lanes during our meets. She continues to put our team in a position to win matches while also allowing her to be one of the top players in our conference. She also enjoys encouraging and helping out our middle school players.

Athlete’s Name: Jared McFarlane
Jared is on the boys’ varsity bowling team. Although Jared is only a freshman he has proven to be a crucial part of the boys’ varsity bowling team. Jared is one of two boys we have in the top 10 for singles, as well as he should be due to his work ethic. Jared’s dedication, focus, attitude, and consistent performance is key to helping our team once again be a contender for a state title. I must also add that Jared is a great role model for our younger players also. He has no problem coming in on his unscheduled practice times to help out.

Athlete’s Name: Nathan Dykstra
Nathan is on the middle school wrestling team. He is a hard worker that does not know the meaning of quit. He is always working as hard as he can. At practice, he makes anybody he works with a better wrestler, because he does not let up and they need to work hard to keep up with him. Nathan also listens to what the coaches have to say and uses it to make improvements. In a match, Nathan is the same way; he goes full speed from the start of the match until the whistle blows to end the match, but he is always listening for advice from the coaches.
