Antigo Police Reports for 1/25/16
Sunday, January 17th
3:51 PM Officers responded to an accident in the parking lot of an establishment on Western Avenue. Property damage only.
2:41 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting the theft of a cell phone and money from the wallet of another male who stayed the night at the male subject’s residence. Officers were given a description of the phone and the amount of money taken from the wallet. Items were noticed missing at 8 AM this morning. Male caller thinks he knows who the suspect is.
1:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. The female driver was cited for speed.
9:16 AM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting the loss of her wallet on 1/16/16 in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Female gave officers a description of the wallet and its contents. The business did not have anything turned in that was found in the parking lot.
Saturday, January 16th
12:52 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that a license plate registered to him, received a parking ticket on a vehicle in Antigo. The ticket had been written for a Pontiac Grand Am. The male subject said that he never owned this vehicle. He advised the officers that he sold a vehicle with this plate to another male subject a couple of months ago, and they believe that the license plate was then stolen from that vehicle. The male caller was advised to call the Department of Motor Vehicles and have the license plate cancelled or reported stolen.
10:24 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on 2nd Avenue reporting that someone struck the side of his house at approximately 11:50 PM on 1/15/16. The east side of the residence was struck and the only damage was to the outside water faucet. There was some black paint transfer. The striking vehicle was a pickup truck, dark in color, with a loud, dual exhaust. The truck pulled in, did a u turn and pulled out.
12:45 AM Officers stopped a vehicle in the municipal parking lot behind an area business on Edison Street. Male driver was mailed a citation for no proof of insurance.
12:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a tall male, wearing a black coat, was walking on Edison Street by an area business, and when female subject passed him, he took off the black coat, waved it in the air, then ran down the middle of the street and into a yard. Officers arrested the male subject on possession of marijuana and a probation hold.
Friday, January 15th
10:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle all over the road on highway 64 coming into Antigo from the east. Male driver was found not to be driving while intoxicated.
4:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she had borrowed her vehicle to a male subject who was later arrested in Wausau. She was told that the vehicle had been towed and then picked up by a male party. Officers called the Wausau police department. Female’s vehicle was not towed. It was stilled parked at a business on Stewart Avenue. Female was advised of officer’s findings.
4:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a noise coming from a building on 1st Avenue. Female subject said that it was a dull constant sound that had been going on for two days. Officers observed water coming out of the west doors of the building. Building appeared to have a few inches of water in it.
10:11 AM Male subject came to the Safety Building to fill out a voluntary report for a possible accident in the parking lot of an area business. There was very minor damage to the rear bumper of Ford truck while parked in parking lot.
Thursday, January 14th
8:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and 8th Avenue. Male driver was issued a citation for a seatbelt violation. Driver was also warned about obstructed windows.
1:11 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 5th Avenue reporting that someone keeps ringing her buzzer to her apartment. She thought she knew who the subject was. Officers followed bicycle and foot tracks to address on 5th Avenue. Officers spoke with male subject. He denied ringing the buzzer. Officers warned him not to do it. Officers then walked around the female’s apartment building. They were unable to locate anyone.
Wednesday, January 13th
10:52 PM Officers came upon a disabled vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. Male driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended.
6:20 PM Male subject came to the Safety Building with a white pit bull with some black spots. Subject found dog running on Clermont Street. Dog had a black collar with a rabies tag. Dog was taken to the Humane Society.
1:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject about a stolen go kart, taken from behind his garage. Officers took statement and will follow up.
2:48 AM Officers were in pursuit of a vehicle on Forrest Road east of Highway 45. Vehicle went east on Crestwood and turned south. Chase was terminated. Officers later observed vehicle approaching Highway 47, but lost visual. Male driver was cited and referred for fleeing an officer and operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related. Male was also cited for driving 70 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.
Tuesday, January 12th
3:09 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that on January 9th at approximately 8pm, he lost some fishing equipment from his truck on Edison Street in the area of 1st Avenue. Missing are an 8” Polar Fire ice auger, Marcum underwater camera & the top half of a seat for a Frabill two man flip over sled. Male subject knew that items were lost, not stolen, because he drove back to the area and found some items.
12:11 PM Officers responded to a 2 car accident with road blockage on Superior Street, north of Century Avenue. A state accident report was made.
Monday, January 11th
10:08 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a male acquaintance’s wallet was stolen while at an area hospital. Officers were given a description of the wallet and its contents. The hospital is aware of the situation and are still looking for the wallet. Female will call if wallet is found.
5:04 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Graham Street. Driver was cited for speed.
