Kathleen Ann Simon, age 65, of Brunswick, GA died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 2, 2016.
Kathy was born on March 28, 1950 to David and Elaine (Schroeder) Simon in Antigo.

Kathy was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1968. She went on to graduate from UW Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She furthered her education earning her master degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota and her doctorate from Boston University.

She worked for Marshfield Hospital and then went on to a career of teaching nursing. She taught at UW Eau Claire, University of Minnesota, Wayne State in Detroit, Boston University, Medical School of South Carolina in Charleston, Coastal Carolina University, and was currently teaching at Georgia Southern University and Southern University of Savannah.

In addition to her dedication to education, Kathy enjoyed needlepoint, reading, flowers, raising poodles, and quilting. She was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. Her family was most dear to her.

Survivors including her parents David and Elaine Simon of Bryant, a sister Dee Ann Simon of Bryant, a brother Michael (Karen) Simon of Cincinnati, OH, a nephew Michael Simon, and 2 nieces Katie and Kari Simon.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar. Reverend Donald Engebretson will officiate. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to School of Nursing Students’ Memorial Fund which can be found at www.foundation.georgiasouthern.com.edu.
