Peter Pospichal, 80
Peter Ernest Pospichal, of Deerbrook, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born on September 2, 1935 in Antigo, a son of Aloyious and Inez (Smith) Pospichal. He married Jeanette Zurkowski on August 1, 1971 in Milwaukee. The couple had their marriage blessed in the Catholic Church on November 29, 2015. She survives.
From 1953 to 1954, he served as a private in the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a combat construction specialist at Fort Benning, Georgia. After returning to Wisconsin, he drove bus for the Milwaukee County Transit Authority for 15 years. He relocated his family to Antigo in 1973 where he worked in the woods as a logger. Later, he drove semi over-the-road for Schneider trucking and retired in October 2000.
Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing and geneology.
He was a member of the Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post #3 and Langlade County Voiture 1204, 40 et 8.
Survivors, including his wife, are eight daughters, Carla Foust, Phenix City, Alabama, Regina Faust, Nashville, Tennesee, Renee Chappell, Danville, Kentucky, Sheila (Rodney) Teal, North Pole, Alaska, Christina Pospichal, Brandon, Florida, Nicole Pospichal, Aniwa, Annette (Joe) Hayek, and Jacqueline (Brian) Gliniecki, all of Wausau; five sons, Clint Pospichal, Burlington, Allen (Barb) Pospichal, Lac du Flambeau, Peter (Sheila) Pospichal, Jr., West Allis, Brian Pospichal, Wilmington, California, Normen (Monnie) Pospichal, Sauk City; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Pospichal, Winnebago; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Pospichal; two sisters, Patricia (William) Mish, Helen Pospichal, three brothers, Melvin, Karel and Frederick (Eileen) Pospichal; a son-in-law, Charles Foust.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Antigo. Visitation will be 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 and 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
