Gladys Cecelia Boettcher, 90

Gladys Cecelia Boettcher, of Antigo, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. She was 90 years old. She was born on May 21, 1925 in Antigo, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Hubatch) Fischer. She married Alfred Boettcher on June 22, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2009.

She attended St. John Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1944.

Mrs. Boettcher was employed by the McCrory Corp. She was the manager of McClellean Five and Dime Store in Antigo, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of St John Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Alter Society.

She volunteered at C.A.R. and at Langlade Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Thomas (Barbara) Boettcher of Crivitz; a daughter, Mary Ann (Rod) Pesl of Antigo; three grandchildren, Jeromey (Susan) Boettcher of Menasha, Andrew (Kathryn) Boettcher of Tigerton and Kerri (George) Samson of Nichols; three step-grandchildren, Bree (Chad) Theilman of Birnamwood, Nicholas Pesl of Wausau and Peter Pesl and special friend Anna of Weston; seven great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Olive) Fischer of Surprise, AZ.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Leone Laehn, Lorraine Emmerich, Rose Geiger and infant sister, Margaret Ruth Fischer; two brothers, Frank Fischer and George Fischer.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 am until the time of Mass.

A special thank you to the staffs of Care Partners, LeRoyer Hospice and Aspirus Langlade Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Gladys.
