For Antigo Times

Most of us CAN afford to buy an extra tube of toothpaste or bottle of shampoo! Last year 840 churches, employers, and schools in North Central Wisconsin joined the Family Radio Station on 88.5 for the Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive Communities and donated more than $343,000 worth of hygiene supplies – stocking the shelves of 79 local crisis programs – in many cases supplying a year’s worth of products.  This donation allows local crisis agencies to concentrate their limited resources on providing qualified staff, safe housing, nutritious food, education, and counseling to those they serve.

Collection boxes with posters will be placed in their high traffic areas promoting our annual Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive to their members, staff, students and friends.  There will be several drop off locations throughout the area, including Shopko and Walgreens. For specific donation drop off locations, contact Penny Huffman, Area Coordinator with Forward Service Corporation, by email at [email protected] or by phone at 715-365-7844.

Donations remain in the communities where they are collected. Donations in Antigo will go to Avail Inc. $1.7 million worth of supplies have been donated to LOCAL crisis agencies through The Family’s Help for the Homeless since 2008.
