Raymond Jankowski, 81
Raymond Jankowski, age 81, died at his home Tuesday February 9, 2016. He was under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice.
Ray was born on August 31, 1934 in Antigo to the late Benjamin and Marie (Zelinski) Jankowski.
He married Lorraine Strasser on October 9, 1965 at St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church. She survives.
Ray and Lorraine owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Rolling for 35 years. Ray was a volunteer firefighter for the Rural Fire Control.
He was a member of SS. Mary & Hyacinth’s Catholic Church.
Ray attended Sunnydale Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1952. He served in the US Navy from 1956-1958.
He was a proficient welder and enjoyed working in his shop. He also liked working in the woods.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 7 sons, Paul (Karin) of Cleveland, OH, Andrew (Suzie) of Neenah, Anthony (Cindy) of Shelby, NC, David, Bruce, Luke (John), Benjamin all of Antigo, 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Serena, Lily, Kattie, Jacob, Abbie, Vincent, Andrew, a brother Richard(Linda) of Forest Junction and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by an infant brother, Thomas, a brother Eugene, 3 sisters, Marcella Zcakalski, Theresa Jankowski, and Mary Jane Tiedemann.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Ss. Mary & Hyacinth’s Catholic Church. Reverend David Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with a wake service at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow the service.
