Anita M. Ecker, 86, formerly of Birnamwood, died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo.
She was born on March 6, 1930 in the Town of Almon, the daughter of the late Conrad and Amanda (Tews) Teuchert.
On June 10, 1949, Anita was united in marriage to Alex Ecker in Antigo. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2004.
Anita loved being in the outdoors and was always on the go. She enjoyed gardening, making necklaces and riding her bike, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Conrad (Janice) Ecker, Bowler, Bob (Julie) Ecker, Birnamwood, Randy (Shirley) Ecker, Schofield and Archie (Laura) Ecker, Eau Claire; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and siblings, Harold (Carolyn) Teuchert and Flora (Duane) Ecker, all of Birnamwood. She is also survived by other relatives.
In addition to her husband and parents, Anita was preceded in death by one son David Ecker; one daughter, Sharon Ecker; granddaughter, Elizabeth; great-granddaughter, Natailie and siblings, Alfred Teuchert, Adeline Baranowski and Marie Reetz.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Congregational Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Dave Legge will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
