Antigo Police Reports for 3/28/16
Monday, March 14th
8:26 AM Officers responded to a report from an Antigo Street Department worker that a syringe was lying on Neva Road. Officers picked up the syringe and disposed of it.
8:40 AM Officers received a report from the owner of an area business on Edison Street that a blue vehicle had been parked in the back of their parking lot for four days. Officers advised the business owner that he could have the vehicle towed and held for the bill if it was parked where it was not supposed to be.
9:56 AM Officers received a report from an Antigo Street Department worker that a syringe and two small glass vials were found on E. Town Drive. The Street Department placed cones over the items. Officers were advised.
12:40 PM Officers received a report from a female employee of an area business on Neva Road, that while her vehicle was parked next to the business that morning, another vehicle struck hers, scraping the side and then left the scene.
2:23 PM Officers received a report from the employee of an area business on Superior Street about a kitten found wondering loose with a collar, twice in two days. The employee told the officers which house the kitten was from. The staff of the business wanted to know if the owner actually wants the cat, and if they do, why they let it run loose on Superior Street. They also said that if the owner does not want the cat, they would take it.
2:54 PM Officers responded to a report of a child left in a running vehicle, outside a business on Hwy. 64. The child was sleeping in the back seat in a car seat. A male subject then came out of the business and drove southbound on Hwy. 45.
3:23 PM Officers responded to a report from male subject reporting several shots fired from a .22 near North Avenue. Officers were unable to find or hear anything.
5:39 PM Officers responded to a request from an area business on Hwy. 64 to keep non-customers out of their parking lot. That day there were vehicles parked in the lot with kids working on their vehicles. Officers spoke with the manager, and told several vehicles to move along.
Tuesday, March 15th
1:55 AM Officers attempted to stop a vehicle, westbound on St. Hwy. 64 and Western Avenue. Vehicle was finally stopped with the assistance of the Lincoln County and Marathon County Sheriff’s Departments in Lincoln County on County Line Road. 2 subjects were taken into custody.
8:50 AM Officers responded to a report of a yellow and a black lab running loose. Officers were able to capture the yellow lab. It was taken to the Humane Society.
11:40 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that on 3/13/16 at around noon, his white I-Phone 6 was stolen from the front passenger seat of his Mercedes Benz while it was parked at an area business on Neva Road. It was taken while he went into the business for about 5 minutes. The male subject was advised by his employer that he should file a complaint with the police department, even though he had already replaced the phone.
3:38 PM Officers responded to a report from the landlord of a residence on 7th Avenue that someone had been entering an apartment rented by a person currently in jail. No one else should be in that residence. Officers located people in the apartment. They were sent on their way.
Wednesday, March 16th
8:40 AM Officers responded to a report from a male subject that his dog was missing. The dog was a female Shar Pei. Officers were unable to locate the dog.
9:59 AM Officers responded to a report from a female subject that her dog was missing. The dog was mostly black, but had brown in the face, its chest was white, and had a white tip on the tail. It had no collar. Officers were unable to locate the dog.
10:03 AM Officers dealt with an abatement issue concerning a residence on Clermont Street. A letter was sent to the owner for removal of all garbage, furniture, construction materials and tires.
12:13 PM Officers responded to report of a school bus going through a red light at 5th Avenue and Clermont Streets, heading south. Officers stopped at the school and talked to the bus driver in question. She stated that she had stopped for the red light. She was going to turn westbound on 5th, but then decided to go straight on Clermont St. She saw the light turn yellow for east/west traffic and assumed that it was turning green for her, so she went. The driver apologized and stated that it would not happen again.
2:36 PM Officers responded to a report of an elderly male who was swerving all over the road from Polar to an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers tried to contact the elderly male.
3:56 PM Officers responded to a report from an area business on Superior Street that a customer left without paying for $24 worth of gas. The male subject came inside and purchased a newspaper, but must have forgotten to pay for the gas. Officers talked with the male subject. He stated that he only purchased the newspaper and he did not pump any gas.
Thursday, March 17th
5:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation and felony bail jumping.
6:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was issued a 10 day correction warning for displaying blue lights on the vehicle.
10:36 PM Officers responded to a report of loud music at a residence on 10th Avenue. Officers warned the subject.
Friday, March 18th
3:30 AM Officers found the front door open at a building on 5th Avenue. Officers were unable to secure door. Everything was ok.
3:37 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Spruce Street. Driver was issued a citation for operating after suspension.
4:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Gowan Road and 10th Avenue. Driver was issued a citation for operating after suspension.
4:50 PM Officers responded to a call of an alarm at an area business on Watson Street. Everything was fine.
4:57 PM Officers responded to a call from female subject reporting two bright orange chickens in her fenced in yard. The caller had no idea how they got there, but she wanted them removed. When officers arrived, they saw that the caller had left the gate open and the chickens were gone. Officers were unable to locate the chickens.
5:40 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Amron Avenue. Driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt.
5:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a business on 6th Avenue reporting that they thought that they received a fraudulent twenty dollar bill. Officers picked up the bill and placed it into evidence.
6:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a residential building on 5th Avenue reporting that there were people in an apartment that should not be there. Officers arrested two people for trespassing and drug charges.
Saturday, March 19th
11:30 AM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that her pop-up camper was missing from behind her house. The female had been gone for 11 days on vacation and just noticed the camper missing this morning. Her landlord was pulling up video footage. The female will bring in any video footage and a receipt for the purchase of the camper to the Safety Building.
12:50 PM Officers responded to a report of a dog barking for 1-½ hours on Artic Street. The dog could be heard barking over the phone. Officers warned the dog’s owner about the barking.
5:46 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting a male subject in a tan vehicle exposing his genitals and appearing to be under the influence of something. The male was arrested on a probation hold.
Sunday, March 20th
11:11 AM Officers received a report from a female subject stating that her vehicle was struck while it was parked in a lot on Neva Road by an unknown vehicle. A voluntary accident report was completed.
4:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver was issued a citation for speed.
