Living Well with Chronic Conditions-Put Life Back in Your Life! March 29th 9:30am-Noon St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 138 Bissell Street, White Lake. This 6 week program is designed to help those with chronic health conditions build confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active & fulfilling lives. Throughout this 6-week course, participants will learn about managing fatigue, pain, isolation, medication, exercises for balance, flexibility & strength; communicating effectively with family, friend, and health care professionals; nutrition; and making informed treatment decisions. $10 is the suggested contribution. Townsend Centennial Celebration April 2nd 1-3pm Old Town Hall Restaurant, Hwy. 32, Townsend. This kick-off is a reenactment of the founding of the Township of Townsend. It will start at 1pm sharp when Chairman Allen McDonald (Al Benson) will use his gavel to call the meeting to order. A supporting cast will portray many of the more than 50 men who were in attendance on that historic day. Audience members will compose the eclectic mix of lumberjacks, railroaders, homesteaders, & merchants who observed the solemn undertaking. Comic relief will be provided by an angry group of suffragists who are furious because they are not allowed to vote & thus determined to disrupt the proceedings. Parents Spring Break: Dinner and Comedy Show April 2nd 4-9pm Jack Lamar Memorial/Elcho Community Pavilion, N11283 Dorr Street, Elcho. The kids get a spring break, this is a night for parents to catch a break. “Parents Spring Break” comedy show, starring Liysa Caullsen & Kathy Kowalski, with stand-up & improv comedy. 4th Annual Crazy 8 Bowling Tournament April 2nd Noon Strikers Bowling Alley, 309 W Wisconsin Ave., Tomahawk. Hosted by the Tomahawk Lions Club. The Crazy 8 tourney will feature 8 pin no tap (eight pins will equal a strike) and will include $300.00 in prize money to be awarded to the top 3 finishers. The event will also include colored head pins, get a strike and get a prize, 50/50 raffles. The entrance fee is just $25.00, with all proceeds going to benefit local nonprofit organizations. Nicolet/Wild Rivers Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society 25th Annual Banquet April 2nd 5:15pm Crandon Community Center, 601 W. Washington St., Crandon. Tickets for the banquet are $50 for individuals and include a membership and dinner. Tickets for a member and a spouse are $70 and tickets for children are $25 each. Funds generated at this banquet will be used to improve habitat for ruffed grouse and woodcock in Northeastern Wisconsin and support local activities including high school trap team programs in the area.
