Janice Catherine Geiger, 77
Janice Catherine Geiger, of Aniwa, died at Atrium Post Acute Care of Weston on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the age of 77.
She was born Jan. 3, 1939 in Antigo, daughter of the late Albert and Louise (McIntosh) Gilhardt. She married Lyle Ernest Geiger on February 5, 1955 at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Lyle survives and resides in Aniwa.
She was a former resident of Milwaukee and Kenosha, where she raised her family as a homemaker. She also worked in retail sales, and was a waitress.
Mrs. Geiger enjoyed gardening, crafting, decorating, canning, cooking, and taking trips to the casino. She especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, survivors include 3 daughters, Cynthia Lenzner of Appleton, Gail Geiger (fiancé Gregg Walters) of Antigo, and Candice Geiger (fiancé Robert Haus) of Appleton; 4 sons, Terry (Bonnie) Geiger of Antigo, Lyle Todd Geiger, Jr. of Antigo, Tim (Patricia) Geiger of Aniwa, and Kim Geiger of Aniwa; 4 sisters, Rosemary Derenne of Antigo, Connie Arrowood of Antigo, Susan (David) Steger of Antigo, and Georgina Gillespie; 2 brothers, Darrell (Judy) Gilhardt of Racine, and Fred (Mary) Oesterreich, Jr. of Virginia; 13 grandchildren, Ray (Harriett) Ingram of Antigo, Kevin (Diane) Zdanowicz of Kenosha, Keith (Jordana) Zdanowicz of Antigo, Lucas (Erin) Geiger of Milwaukee, Brandon (Jamie) Geiger of Antigo, Amber (Brad) Johnson of Antigo, Kyle Geiger of Aniwa, Aleecia Bostwick of Appleton, Arielle Bostwick of Appleton, Yvonne (Dave) Longstreth of California, Alexandria Machesnie of Wausau, Amanda Diedrick of Antigo, and Brian (Jess) Hitz of Antigo; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loretta Omachinski; 3 brothers, James, William, and Stuart Gilhardt; her grandparents, Norvesta Catherine (Spencer) and John D. McIntosh; and her great-grandparents Margaret (Hobbs) and George W. Spencer.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Center Church of God with Pastor Andy Wallace officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with a second visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Elmhurst Cemetery.
