Antigo Police Reports for 4/11/16
Monday, March 28th
2:28 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. An accident report was filed.
3:46 PM Officers responded to a report from an area business on Neva Road of a possible intoxicated subject leaving the business, northbound on Neva Road to Center Street. Vehicle was registered to an subject from Rhinelander. A teletype was sent to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department to attempt to locate subject.
4:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Driver was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt and failure to carry ID.
4:41 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Neva Road. Driver was cited for non- registration.
4:44 PM While officers were making a traffic stop at North Avenue and Neva Road, an accident occurred just behind them. A state accident report was made.
6:31 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Avenue. Driver was cited for speed.
Tuesday, March 29th
2:19 AM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street of a white Ford Ranger sitting behind the building since 10pm with a female inside. Officers talked with the female subject. She said that she was waiting for someone to return with some money. The business employee was advised.
2:50 PM Officers responded to a report of a female with a cane walking around in the area. The subject reported that before that, the female subject had been sitting on porches for hours and randomly looking in cars. She seemed to be “on something.” Officers were given a description of the female subject, but they were unable to locate her.
4:54 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Wednesday, March 30th
12:39 AM Officers picked up a needle found on 7th Avenue.
12:47 AM Officers responded to a report of a male subject pounding on the door and screaming. Officers were unable to locate the male immediately. The male subject was later found walking. Officers warned the male subject to stay away.
Thursday, March 31st
12:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Dorr Street. The driver was cited for operating a vehicle while their license was suspended.
1:03 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Lincoln Street. The driver was cited for operating a vehicle while their license was suspended.
8:50 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that damage was done to her 2001 Dodge Caravan while it was parked in the driveway of her residence. The rear driver’s side window was broken. Gravel and rocks were located on the roof of the van. No rocks or anything of that nature was found inside the van. Pictures were taken. There were no suspects.
9:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.
3:41 PM Officers received an anonymous call reporting that a male subject from Kenosha had a fake Facebook account under a different name. The male subject is a registered sex offender, therefore it is a felony for him to use a false name on an internet account. The male subject also failed to report to probation and parole. Officers forwarded the information to the appropriate agencies.
3:41 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed and offered the traffic education class.
3:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed and offered the traffic education class.
Friday, April 1st
7:54 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that just turned onto 2nd Avenue that had no brake lights. Officers found the phone number for the vehicle owner and advised him of the problem.
8:41 AM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a vehicle had just passed the caller on Mendik Avenue and then ran a stop sign by the bypass. A Langlade County officer stopped the vehicle at Hwy. Cty. I and Springbrook Road. The male driver was warned about his speed. He agreed that he should not have been driving like that.
11:49 AM Officers responded to the report of an accident in the parking lot of a business on Hwy. 64. It was a minor fender bender. A state report was made.
8:50 PM Officers received an anonymous complaint that a suspicious vehicle was at an area business on Superior Street. The male driver was parked on the southside of the building. The driver was heard saying that he was stopped in Wausau with “weed” in his vehicle and they let him go. The reporting person believed the subject was under the influence of something.
Saturday, April 2nd
12:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed and offered a traffic education class.
3:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Fred Street and Freiburger Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for operating without a license and failure to fasten seatbelt.
6:45 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was issued a 10 day written warning for expired registration.
9:49 AM Officers responded to a report that around 7 AM a female subject in a pale gold colored Chevrolet drove around an apartment building lot, erratically, about 12 items. The female was now back, parked next to the caller’s vehicle, laying in the back seat taking a nap. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
10:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that when she went to her parent’s house, who were out of town, to check on a package delivery she found the house was broken into and ransacked. After the officers’ arrival, it was determined that no burglary had occurred. There must have been a squirrel in the residence. Only small items were knocked down by the windows and small animal droppings were found on the kitchen floor. Nothing appeared to be taken. A few small items were damaged. Traps were set up.
4:56 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a young boy, approximately 10 years old, was running around in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 with no shoes on. He then crawled beneath a vehicle. Then the boy got into a red Chevy Avalanche. He appeared to be crying or pouting. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
7:58 PM Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The vehicle had driven over a curb in the parking lot. Officers determined that the male driver was not intoxicated. Officers talked with the male subject about his driving habits. He had a valid Montana driver’s license, but his Wisconsin driver’s license was revoked. Officers told the male he was not legal to drive in Wisconsin.
8:23 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a semi parked on 10th Avenue with a compressor running, making a lot of noise. When officers arrived, the semi was quiet. The driver was not found.
10:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and Dorr Street. The driver was arrested on a previous complaint of disorderly conduct, harassment and bail jumping.
11:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was missing cash, change and a scanner. He thought he knew who took the items. Officers referred that person for theft and felony bail jumping.
Sunday, April 3rd
7:30 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject who found of a small blue and yellow colored kid’s bike in the brush by the walking trail. The caller placed the bike in front of his garage. Officers took the bike to impound.
10:19 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of loud music coming from a residence on Lincoln Street. Officers told the subject to keep it down.
