Ervin C. Wege, 94, Norrie, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo.
He was born on August 13, 1921 in the living quarters above the cheese factory in Pella. The family moved to Lake View cheese factory in Norrie in December 1925. Ervin graduated from Norrie Public School in 1934 and Wittenberg High School in 1938. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1942. Ervin worked five years at Oil Gear Company and then 35 years at Milwaukee Water Department retiring in 1984. He returned to live in Norrie in 1989.
Ervin enjoyed playing sheepshead, fishing and going to the casino. He was a very generous man to his community and church.
Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Jacobson; a brother-in-law, Richard; a sister-in-law, Shirley and many nieces and nephews.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Marie (Ehlert) Wege; his wife, Violet; daughter, Valerie; son, Mark and two sisters, Leona Genrich and Meta Krause.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Adam Roberts will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Norrie. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12Noon until the time of service at the church.
