National Mutual Benefit Recognizes Member Volunteers For Outstanding Service

MADISON, Wis. April 8, 2016 –National Mutual Benefit is recognizing all 30 branches including Branch 27 of Antigo, WI during this year’s National Volunteer Week for their 2015 service efforts. In all, member volunteers of NMB branches donated over 105,729 volunteer hours in 2015 alone. NMB branches include groups of volunteers who strive to better their community by performing service acts both large and small. In honor of the branches efforts, National Mutual Benefit’s Home Office will be making a donation to Feeding America in their name.
NMB branches have been involved in volunteer efforts throughout the five states in which they are located: Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. 2015 events included: 243 Community Events, food pantry fillings, educational and entertaining presentations at nursing homes and schools, $383,916 raised in fundraisers, 30 miles of highway clean-up, American flag donations, and Flag Day Celebrations. In addition, the branches gave numerous donations to other nonprofit organizations.
National Volunteer Week 2016, Celebrate Service, presents an opportunity for individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and government entities alike to celebrate the ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things through service. National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to put themselves at the center of social change. This week of celebrating volunteers is sponsored by the Points of Light Institute and HandsOn Network.
In existence since 1902, National Mutual Benefit is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. Through local chapters called “Branches,” NMB member volunteers promote community outreach and volunteer activities at the local level. Branch members organize and carry out charitable, educational, family, and patriotic programs to improve and enrich the lives of people in their communities. The organization also provides security to families through life and disability income insurance programs as well as retirement planning.
