For Antigo Times

The Senior Center Task Force, who refer to themselves as the Senior Center, have been meeting the last few months to develop and promote a senior/community/enrichment center in the Antigo/Langlade County area. Seniors are a big part of the community and the group’s goal is to show how active seniors are in this area and show others in the community how beneficial a senior center can be.

At their last meeting, the group appointed a Board of Directors: Chairperson, Terry Brand; Vice-Chairperson, Lois Jones; Treasurer, Roy Dieck; Secretary, Pat Novak.

The Senior Center is looking for additional Board Members who have specific talents or interests to contribute in a leadership fashion. Although not all-inclusive, some of the other present needs are: public relations, newsletter, membership, scheduler, programs, fundraising and any other positions the Senior Center members feel a need. Presently, Doug Curler is doing the Public Relations role: contact information is [email protected] or 715-623-2253.

The next Senior Center public meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 10AM at the ADRC/Health Services building at 1225 Langlade Road, Antigo. Refreshments will be available. This meeting is open to all persons.
