Esta Ada Arrowood, 99
Esta Ada Arrowood, formerly of Elton, died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 while residing with her son in Green Bay at the age of 99. She was under the care of Unity Hospice and surrounded by her family.
She was born July 3, 1916 in Yancy County, NC, daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Bryant) Miller. She married Percy Arrowood on January 13, 1942 in Tennessee, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2001.
Mrs. Arrowood was a homemaker and mother. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Tennessee Pottery in Erwin, TN, where she hand-painted plates and dishes.
She took great pleasure in reading the Bible.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ginny Statler of Green Bay, and Linda (John) Petts of Antigo; 3 sons, Paul (Diane) Arrowood of Greenville, Philip (Phyllis) Arrowood of Wausau, and Stanley (Carmela) Arrowood of Green Bay; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Arrowood; a granddaughter, Evangelina Petts; 4 brothers, Coolidge, Carmen, Sam, and John Miller; 2 infant sisters; and a son-in-law, LeRoy Statler.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael D. LeClaire of Living Hope Church of Green Bay officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Bent Cemetery in Bryant.
A memorial will be established in Esta’s name.
