Marquette Marion Legro, 90
Marquette Marion Legro, lifelong Antigo resident, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Evergreen Terrace. She was 90 years old.
She was born June 11, 1925 in Antigo, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mayme (Gardner) Magelund. She married Gene Legro in 1943. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Legro was a graduate of Antigo High School. She was a homemaker, and also worked at Sheldon’s and JC Penney. After retirement she worked at Antigo Bakery. Marquette was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Shari Orgeman (Brad Breyer), of Antigo, and Kathy (Colin) Severson of Eau Claire; a son, John (Debby) Legro of Deerbrook; 7 grandchildren Steve and Tom Orgeman, Janelle (Ryan) Smith, Kevin (Stephanie) Legro, Erin (Isaac) Bechen, Nathan (Molly) Severson, Carrie Severson; 8 great-grandchildren, Morgan and Alec Smith, Aiden Legro, Lauryn and Wesley Bechen, Noah and Elliott Orgeman and Charlie Severson; a sister, Beverly Nequette of Antigo; nieces and nephews including her dear niece Debbie (Mitch) Bent of Antigo.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Legro and a brother, Myles (Dorothy) Magelund.
A private memorial service will take place later in the summer, with burial at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting in the family.
