Waukesha Bearings honors Pettit triplets with Dover scholarships

Waukesha Bearings announced today the names of the local winners of the Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program. The Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors and current college students who are the children of Dover employees and who have demonstrated excellence through their academic record, test scores, leadership abilities and through their extracurricular activities and work record. Awardees may receive up to $10,000 in undergraduate scholarship support contingent upon maintaining academic and program eligibility. Now in its fifth year, this program has made 193 awards approaching $1.2 million in scholarship support.

This year’s recipients include triplets attending Merrill Senior High School and are the children of Scott and Stacy Pettit residing in Merrill. Scott is employed at Waukesha Bearings, a Dover company.

Morgan has been active in many organizations and clubs in high school including FFA where she serves as vice president. She is also the co-founder of the Earth Club while also serving as president. She is the captain of the cross country, basketball, and track team. She is also president of the National Honor Society. Morgan will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison to pursue a degree in the Honors Genetics program with a minor in Spanish. Ultimately, Morgan would like to share her passion for science by obtaining a medical and academia degree to conduct clinical work and research.

Kendyl is a member of the swim team and earned a varsity letter all four years, serving as team captain her junior and senior years. She is the co-president of her class and a member of the National Honor Society. Kendyl plans on attending the University of Notre Dame this fall to work on a double major in physics and mathematics. She has a passion for STEM fields and hopes to encourage other women to pursue careers in science and technology. She hopes to one day be a researcher pursuing laboratory experiments in particle and high energy physics.

Tanner earned a varsity letter for wrestling all four years of high school and was captain and individual state-qualifier his senior year. He is active in FFA and currently holds the office of president. He is also co-president of his senior class. Tanner is active in the community with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Octagon Club. Tanner is also a member of the National Honor Society. Tanner will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison this fall pursuing studies in biology. After college, Tanner plans to pursue a medical degree with the goal of a career in dermatology.

”We are pleased to recognize Morgan, Kendyl, and Tanner as 3 of the 29 recipients of this award” said Rich Strickland, Vice President of Human Resources. “Recipients of this prestigious scholarship were selected from students who applied worldwide across all Dover Operating Companies. Being selected for this scholarship is a true honor and we commend the Pettits on their wonderful achievement.”
