Antigo Police & Langlade Co Sheriff Reports for 6/13/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, May 30th
12:10 PM Officers responded to a call from an area establishment on Clermont Street reporting that a box of stuff was found in a window sill. They wanted officers to take a look at the items. Officers determined that the junk in the box was from a theft from an auto on May 28th. The owner of the items was contacted. He told officers to throw it all away.
Tuesday, May 31st
5:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cedar Street and S. Superior Street. The male driver was issued a warning for speed.
3:55 PM Officers received an anonymous call reporting two black male subjects who appeared to be casing the neighborhood of Washington Avenue and Arctic Street on Friday, May 27th. The caller stated that they appeared to be checking out houses in the area. Officers were advised.
8:07 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Superior Street. The driver and passenger were both issued citations for failure to fasten their seatbelts.
11:59 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The male driver was given a written warning for speed.
Wednesday, June 1st
7:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The female driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:39 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of Aspirus Langlade Hospital on 5th Avenue. Property damage only. A voluntary report was made.
12:22 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive off at noon with $15.01 in fuel. The subject was in a small, forest green car. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
12:54 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she has been receiving several calls from a political survey. She believed that the name was ‘Voice of the People.’ Over the past month she received three calls asking her opinion on political questions like Supreme Court justice, presidential candidates, etc. Today, they called again, she answered a few questions, then the male caller asked if she was willing to donate $20 to help them further their cause. She stated that she would. He then asked her for her credit card number or bank account number. She said that she would not give out that information. She would only donate if they sent her something in the mail. The male subject then hung up.
3:56 PM Officers responded to a report of someone driving a moped in the park at Deleglise Street and 2nd Avenue. Officers checked the area. They were unable to locate the moped.
5:05 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Neva Road and Century Avenue. Both vehicles were northbound on Hwy. 45, in the right turn lane onto Hwy. 64. The first vehicle stopped for an eastbound vehicle on Hwy. 64. The second vehicle did not see the first vehicle stop and rear-ended it. There was no damage to the first vehicle. The second vehicle’s front license plate holder was dented. A state report was made.
11:17 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Neva Road reporting that when she took out the garbage behind the building, she could hear a group of men either fighting or partying in the back parking lot. She stated that they were swearing and being extremely loud. Officers were unable to locate anyone fighting.
Thursday, June 2nd
12:13 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The male driver was issued a written warning for speed.
12:16 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Aurora Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
12:42 AM Officers responded to a report of subject that was walking westbound on 5th Avenue from Morse Street. The subject was yelling and screaming. The subject knocked a garbage can off of the pole. Officers were unable to locate the subject. The Department of Public Works was notified to replace the garbage can.
12:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for an improper turn and issued a citation for a graduated driver’s license violation for operating after midnight.
6:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The female driver was issued a citation for failure to fasten a seatbelt.
3:00 PM Officers responded to call from a subject on 3rd Avenue reporting a stray pit bull. It had no collar or tags. It was very friendly. The caller had it tied up. Officers took the dog to the Humane Society.
4:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on 3rd Avenue reporting a dog that had wandered in to her yard. It was a beige colored dog, very friendly. It had a collar, but no tags. Officers took the dog to the Humane Society.
6:17 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a customer reported to them that a light blue Buick vehicle ran into the cart corral after nearly hitting the customer. The vehicle was now parked on the south side of the building. Officers located the male driver. He was warned about his driving. No accident report was needed.
Friday, June 3rd
12:12 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Charlotte Street and North Avenue. The male driver was given a written warning for speed.
2:16 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The female driver was given a 10 day written warning to register her vehicle.
3:27 AM Officers found a garage door open and all of the lights on at an area business on 4th Avenue. Nothing looked out of place. Officers shut off the lights and locked the doors.
5:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Badger Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
6:16 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was issued citations for operating after revocation and failure to fasten their seatbelt.
8:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Mary Street. The male driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:30 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The female driver was cited for speed.
1:31 PM Officers received a report of a speeding vehicle on Virginia Street. An extra patrol was requested.
2:28 PM Officers responded to a call from Aspirus Langlade Hospital reporting that a male patient made a call to a female subject advising her that he wasn’t getting enough pain medication. The female subject delivered to him a baggie containing needles and pills. Officers confiscated the needles and pills.
7:03 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building with a bag of marijuana that he found on the floor of an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers put the bag into evidence for destruction.
Saturday, June 4th
1:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 5th Avenue. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, drug related and on a Langlade County warrant. The person with him was also arrested for possession of marijuana.
2:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and 6th Avenue. The male driver was given a 10 day warning for expired registration.
6:23 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The female driver was issued a written warning for speed.
10:58 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a male subject on the south side of the building walking back and forth on the sidewalk. He seemed “weird and out of it”. He was wearing a camo shirt, khaki pants and had a beard. Officers arrested the male subject on a probation warrant.
1:10 PM Officers responded to a front motion alarm at a business on 5th Avenue. The alarm company was not able to make contact with the key holder. Officers determined that both the front and back doors were secure. There was a light on in the back of the building, but officers did not see anyone inside.
1:43 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Mendlik Street for failure to stop at a stop sign. A traffic education pamphlet was given to the driver.
3:10 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only. A state report was filed.
Sunday, June 5th
12:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was issued a citation for no proof of insurance and was given a 10 warning for registration.
12:53 AM Officers found an open door at an area business on Edison Street. The business owner was contacted. The building was secured.
1:20 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and was cited for displaying false plates.
2:09 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a male subject at an area business on Neva Road appeared to be staggering and shaky and had a 4 or 5 year old boy with him. The caller felt that the male subject should not be driving as he appeared to be under the influence of something. The caller gave officers a description of the male subject. Officers talked to the male subject. He refused a ride from officers, saying that he would walk home. He was cited for operating while suspended as he admitted to driving to the business.
6:32 AM Officers responded to report of a disturbance at an apartment building on Dorr Street. A female subject was throwing stuff out of an apartment. The female subject was cited for disorderly conduct.
6:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a female requesting for officers to remove a male subject. He was causing a disturbance on Hudson Street. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
10:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 1st
10:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she received a call from her husband, who said that a tree fell on him, on Cozy Lane. The male subject was taken to Aspirus Wausau hospital by ambulance.
Thursday, June 2nd
10:18 AM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Postmaster reporting suspicious activity in the area of Old 26 Road and Elmwood Road. The post office believes that someone may be checking mailboxes for parcels that are delivered. On May 23rd a package was delivered on Maplewood Lane, Aniwa by the carrier at around 9:30am. The package was taken from the mailbox prior to the homeowner getting it. On June 1st a male subject on Elmwood Road observed a small black car checking mailboxes. The male subject notified the post office. Officers talked with the male subject. Officers told him to call if he sees anything suspicious.
Friday, June 3rd
7:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a boat and trailer were in a ditch on Cty. Road U approximately 1.5 miles off of Cty. Road T. The boat was registered to a male subject in Oshkosh. The boat was towed to the county impound. It appeared that the boat and trailer may have been stolen. The bolts where the motor mounts were cut. Officers tried to call the listed owner but got a busy signal. Officers took photos of partial shoe prints and lifts that were in the rear seat. Update 6/6/16 1:16 PM Officers received a call from the Oshkosh owner. He stated that he will be calling the Oneida County sheriff’s department to report the theft. The boat & trailer were stolen from the Pelican Lake area.
1:56 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that every weekend around 4 to 5pm motorcycles go through the White Lake area at 80 to 100mph. An extra patrol was requested.
Saturday, June 4th
12:12 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Buettner Road in White Lake reporting that a fox, that had been foaming from the mouth, died in his back yard. He requested that it be removed. He had been advised by the DNR to contact the Health Department. The Health Department was closed, so officers contacted the necessary individual and advised them of the situation.
Sunday, June 5th
12:56 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on State Rd. 45 and Cty. Hwy. B. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense.
Tuesday, June 7th
1:02 PM Officers received a call from an area business in Summit Lake reporting that a gas drive off just occurred. $39.92 worth of gas was not paid for. The vehicle was a blue Subaru Outback with Illinois plates. The vehicle left southbound with a blonde female driver. The information was given to all squads.
Wednesday, June 8th
3:07 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Jones Road reporting that he heard an explosion and there was a vehicle on fire at an area business on St. Hwy. 52. Officers reported that that car was fully involved and other vehicles were in danger. The caller told officers that he heard a big boom around 2:55 am. He woke up another family member and they drove to the area business. They woke up the business owner. Officers also talked with a female subject on Jones Road. She heard a loud crash and then a snap/pop. About 5 to 10 minutes later, she heard a horn honk a number of times. She did not see any suspicious vehicles. There are no suspects. Five vehicles were damaged.
