Antigo Police & Langlade Co Sheriff Reports for 7/4/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 20th
12:37 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road requesting an officer for a retail theft that happened the day before. They had a possible suspect. Evidence of a theft by a white female was found on tape. Officers spoke to the female suspect. She admitted to three things on the tape. She told officers that she has stolen items from the business six or seven times. Charges were submitted to the district attorney’s office.
12:48 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Field Street reporting that someone threw a rock through their window on the northeast corner of the building, sometime between 12:00 PM on Friday, June 17th and 12:45 PM on Monday, June 20th. There were no suspects.
2:35 PM Officers received a report of a syringe in the 1500 block of Neva Road.
8:26 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 2nd Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt and failure to stop at a stop sign. A traffic education class was offered.
8:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
9:25 PM Officers received a call reporting a possible drunk driver on Neva Road. The driver was going driving southbound at about 15 mph, swerving over the centerline. Squads were advised.
10:40 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Watson Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Tuesday, June 21st
10:13 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a young couple in their mid-20’s took a carry-out cart from the store on 6/20/16 at 4:30pm and never returned it. The cart was valued at $600. They requested an officer come to the business and look at the video to see if they could be identified. Officers located the subjects and the cart on 6th Avenue. The couple was cited for theft.
3:42 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on 5th Avenue. Both vehicles were backing out of parking spots, one of the vehicles backed into the rear door of the other vehicle.
Wednesday, June 22nd
2:15 AM Officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling southbound on Hwy. 45, with no headlights and dragging a mailbox. The vehicle was westbound on Century Avenue and Progress Boulevard when officers stopped the vehicle. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content and operating after suspended.
9:48 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she struck a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on 6th Avenue. A non-reportable accident report was completed.
10:55 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Superior Street reporting damage to a metal post and some hedges by another vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle that backed into the metal fence post and some hedges was unaware that she had struck a post. A non-reportable accident report was completed.
1:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Hudson Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Pine Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:46 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that an employee found a syringe on 6th Avenue and Field Street. Officers picked up the syringe and put it in a Sharps container.
2:01 PM Officers responded to a report of an abatement issue at a residence on Superior Street. There were garbage bags, furniture and other miscellaneous debris in the yard. Officers made contact with the resident and gave them seven days to get it cleaned up.
3:45 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report a hit and run at an area business on Morse Street. The female claimed that a black Ford struck her car. After wiping the dirt and bugs off of her vehicle though, she determined that there were no scratches or damage as she first thought.
4:57 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that his vehicle was egged two times in the past few months. Once at a friend’s house and once at his house on Milton Street. There were no suspects.
6:25 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a subject wanted for retail theft was trying to leave the store and get into a vehicle. The female subject was arrested for retail theft, felony bail jumping and possession of drugs & drug paraphernalia.
Thursday, June 23rd
11:26 AM Officers responded to a call reporting that two bikes were left behind at the skateboard park on 2nd Avenue. The bikes were taken to the impound.
11:56 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting a theft that had occurred within the past couple of days. They asked that an officer come by to view the store video tape. The theft occurred on 6/21 at 8:08 PM. The suspect was a female in her mid-20’s with long, dark, wavy hair and wearing glasses. She did not pay for an item that cost $8.50.
5:15 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Milton Street reporting that his vehicle was egged again last night. He believed it occurred between 11pm and 5am. The male subject requested an extra patrol for the next couple of nights.
5:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a modified street bike blew through a stop sign at 1st Avenue and Western Avenue. It was going northbound towards the industrial park. The caller said that this occurred over 15 minutes ago. The driver was not wearing a helmet and was wearing an orange shirt. Officers were unable to locate.
10:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a subject in a grey SUV was slumped over a steering wheel on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Edison Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Friday, June 24th
5:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The driver was cited for an expired registration.
7:24 AM Officers responded to numerous calls reporting that a logging truck took out a traffic light at the corner of Neva Road and Century Avenue. There was debris in the lanes of traffic. The street department was notified. A state report was filed.
7:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting that a male subject kept walking by and now it was believed that he was trying to get into the back fence. The male subject was wearing a white tank top, black hat and khaki shorts. The subject was told not to have contact with them from previous complaints. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
11:12 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a bunch of kids being loud and obnoxious at the skateboard park. Officers reminded them of the park hours and they were sent on their way.
Saturday, June 25th
6:33 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed and for suspended registration.
1:58 PM Officers received a call from a female subject on Lincoln Street reporting that her son was stuck by a needle that he found. Officers advised the female to take the child to the doctor’s office and to bring the needle along.
3:03 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting two adult shoplifters, one male and one female. Officers cited the female subject for retail theft.
3:23 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a juvenile male for shoplifting. Officers cited the male subject for retail theft.
Sunday, June 26th
1:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Clermont Street regarding a noise complaint about a party going on across the street. The garage door was open and the music was extremely loud. Officers spoke with the resident, who closed the garage and turned the music down.
4:27 PM Officers responded to a caller reporting a highly intoxicated male subject on his bike on Lincoln Street who was swearing and yelling random stuff. Officers were unable to locate.
4:40 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Graham Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver was arrested on a warrant.
6:53 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. Property damage only. A voluntary report was completed.
7:24 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road requesting an officer to view a video from 6/22/16. Teenagers were at the business with a female that they were being abusive to. They went into a cooler and stole some beer. Officers identified the subjects and one subject was cited for retail theft.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 22nd
4:24 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he believed he was scammed out of $1,800. He had received a call from someone who he thought was his grandson, who told him he was in the sheriff’s department and could only make one phone call. He said that he was involved in an accident where he was playing on his cellphone, ran a red light and hit another vehicle. He was arrested and had a broken nose. The male subject then spoke with his “lawyer” who said that he needed money to get his grandson out of jail. He would take gift cards. The caller went to the store and bought $1,800 in gift cards. When the “lawyer” called him back, the caller gave him all of the pin numbers. Later, the “lawyer” called back stating there was damage to the rental car and they needed more money. The caller then thought something was wrong. The male subject then called his grandson, who nothing about it, so he called the sheriff’s department.
Thursday, June 23rd
10:56 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Now Road reporting that around 10:00 PM someone shot twelve times in front of his house. The caller got into his vehicle and drove around the block, but didn’t see anyone. The subject did find shell casings in front of his house on the roadway. Officers found twelve 9mm shell casings on the road. The shots were fired at a “loose gravel” sign, leaving very minor damage. The caller did not see the vehicle. There were no suspects.
Friday, June 24th
11:19 AM Officers received a call from the owner of an area business on St. Hwy. 55 in Pickerel reporting some suspicious circumstances that occurred on 6/23/16. An employee advised the owner of the following – a male and female subject came to the business in a van. The male was described as black, 5’8”, very muscular with a dark complexion. The female was described as black, 5’6”, heavy set with a light complexion. The male subject asked to go into the kitchen with the female employee to show her how a glass cleaner would work on the grill. The employee refused. The female subject took photos of the business. The two subjects asked to use the bathroom, but didn’t use it. The subjects told the employee that they were trying to sell window cleaner. The male subject later asked to use the bathroom. The employee reported that one and a half hours later, the van was in the area again. The van was described as a 2005 Ford carryall, grey in color.
12:27 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female subject reporting that she was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended on Hwy. 45 and Knight Road. No one was injured and the vehicle were not in the roadway. The male driver of the other vehicle was arrested for operating after revocation – OWI related and he was transported to jail.
5:22 PM Officers responded to a 911 call for a motorcycle accident at the intersection of St. Hwy. 55 and St. Hwy. 52 in Lily. The driver was a male in his mid-50’s, not wearing a helmet, may have hit the guard rail and was conscious. The male subject reported to officers that he had looked down to see what was rattling on his motorcycle, and when he looked up he was into the guard rail. Photos were taken at the scene before EMTs arrived. Officers contacted the male subject’s wife to update her on the situation.
11:06 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at St. Hwy. 45 and Sunnyside Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
