Tom Pease entertains children at the Antigo Public Library
By Craig Marx, Editor
The Antigo Public Library featured veteran children’s entertainer Tom Pease yesterday afternoon, entertaining a room full of children with his witty songs and charismatic delivery.
Pease is originally from Burlington, Iowa and taught environmental education for several years in California before returning to the Midwest. As he loves working with children, Pease eventually decided to combine his love of music together with his passion for performing and teaching children.
The children’s musician has been performing full time since 1982 and puts on over 200 shows for kids yearly. Pease now lives in Amherst, Wisc. with his wife and two sons.
Pease’s visit is part of the APL’s “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!” summer reading program designed for children. Other interesting activities that the library had available for children this summer included the Traveling Lantern Theatre, movie showings, and a Star Wars fan party.
The library also offers special events and reading programs for teenagers with its “Get in the Game: Read” program. For more information, please visit the Antigo Public Library at http://antigopl.org .
