Antigo Police & Langlade Co Sheriff Reports for 7/18/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 4th
4:41 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a white female with no identification caught shoplifting. The female subject was identified by officers and cited for retail theft.
6:27 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Elm Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 5th offense.
10:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and Mendlick Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for transporting intoxicants.
10:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 5th Avenue reporting that a male subject had a gun out and was yelling “let’s go round two.” It started over an argument about a driveway. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and endangering safety/use of a dangerous weapon.
11:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Martin Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended, 2nd offense.
Tuesday, July 5th
2:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that a rock was just thrown at her vehicle by the fairgrounds on Neva Road. The caller stated that there were a group of kids under the pine trees. Officers talked to a group of six kids. There was no damage. A pine cone hit the side of the van.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive off. Officers were given a description of the vehicle. It left going southbound on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver thought that they had paid at the pump. They were going to return to the business and pay for the gas.
9:41 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed. Traffic education class was offered.
Wednesday, July 6th
1:34 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deresch Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
3:38 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Amron Avenue reporting that they had loaned a vehicle to a female subject from Green Bay, and now the subject was refusing to bring it back.
5:41 PM Officer responded to a two vehicle accident at S. Park Street and Gruber Street. Property damage only. There were no injuries.
8:08 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a male subject operating a mini bike in the parking lots and roads on Charlotte Street. Officers located the male subject at home. He admitted to riding his mini bike. Officers warned him to keep it at home. Officers also talked to his mother.
9:41 PM Officers came upon an altercation on Fred Street. Officers arrested a male subject on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Department warrant for failure to appear and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thursday, July 7th
5:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Deresch Street. Officers arrested subject on a warrant.
6:06 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation and two warrants.
8:12 AM Officers received a call from a female subject from Eldorado, Wisconsin reporting a fraudulent charge to her checking account. The female stated that a charge was made to her checking account for $163.65 from an Antigo area business. Officers were investigating.
1:34 PM Officers responded to a report of a loaded syringe at northeast corner of 3rd Avenue and Lincoln Street. Officers picked up the syringe and destroyed it.
1:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his vehicle was just hit by another vehicle while turning on Jerome Street from Hwy. 64. An accident report was filed.
4:30 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a spare tire was taken from the bed of his truck while it was parked at an area business on Hwy. 45 between 6:30 PM on July 5th and 4:30 PM on July 6th. The business stated that they could not find anything on their video footage. The male subject requested that the entire 22 hours of tape be viewed.
10:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that subjects were lighting off fireworks by her house on Field Street. The caller stated that they were loud and leaving the ground. Officers were unable to locate.
Friday, July 8th
2:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a ten day warning for expired registration.
7:40 AM Officers responded to a call from an establishment on Lincoln Street reporting a blue van in their lot. It had been parked there since sometime the night before. The caller stated that it appeared to have been in an accident. The vehicle had been in an accident in the county. It was towed to the county impound.
7:52 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed. Traffic education class was offered.
9:34 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Watson Street requesting an extra patrol in their parking lot. They stated that there were a lot of tracks in the lot like cars spinning donuts. Some tracks were close to the house.
1:14 PM Officers responded to a report of a bread truck that lost crates of buns and bread at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The truck was last seen south of 10th Avenue. When officers arrived they saw that someone had moved the crates to the sidewalk. Officers brought the crates to the Safety Building.
1:19 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at an area business on 6th Avenue. Only minor damage. A voluntary report was made.
8:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Dorr Street. The driver was issued citations for no proof of insurance, failure to carry a license, and a written ten day warning for registration.
Saturday, July 9th
2:53 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and operating without proof of insurance.
5:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The driver was cited for speed.
7:14 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
Sunday, July 10th
1:18 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a black Geo Tracker weaving in and out of traffic northbound on Neva Road from North Avenue. The driver was bouncing around in the vehicle, hands up in the air, with a haze of smoke in the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate.
6:36 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Morse Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten a seat belt.
4:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was issued a citation for non-registration.
5:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on 7th Avenue requesting that an officer take a look at her back deck. A cast lead bullet was embedded in the deck flooring. It is unknown who did it or when it happened.
8:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
8:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed. Traffic education class was offered.
Monday, July 11th
2:40 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. He was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
5:43 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for failure to fasten their seatbelt.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, July 7th
1:56 PM A female subject stopped at the Safety Building to report fraudulent charge on her debit card. The charge was $153.63 at a chain store in Milwaukee. The female subject’s banking institution asked her to file a report.
8:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she heard a loud noise by her house on St. Rd. 64 and Highland Rd that sounded like a crash. The caller saw that a dark blue, beat up looking van had struck the guardrail and then went eastbound on Hwy. 64. Officers left a message with a highway department to fix the guardrail. Officers observed the guardrail was bent at a 90 degree angle. The vehicle left a headlight and a couple small plastic parts that were dark blue in color. The vehicle had been westbound, but went eastbound after the crash. There was damage to a neighboring lawn. Officers took photos. Officers later found a 2005 blue Dodge Caravan in a parking lot on Lincoln Street. Paint recovered at the scene of the accident matched the van exactly. Officers spoke with the listed owner, who said that he had borrowed the van to another male. Officers left a message with the male subject to call them.
Friday, July 8th
11:48 AM A male subject stopped at the Safety Building to report fraudulent charges on his debit card. Four charges had been made – $215.70 in LaCrosse, $215.08, $23.17 and $215.08 in Marshfield, all at the same chain store. The male subject’s banking institution asked him to file a report.
4:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he had just witnessed a two vehicle accident. The caller stated that a van pulled out in front of a pickup on Hwy. 64. The van driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign and obstructed view. In addition, a driver condition report was submitted. The vehicles were towed.
11:19 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at St. Rd. 55 and Cty. Rd. DD. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content, and operating left of center. The subject was transported to corrections.
Saturday, July 9th
1:56 AM Officers responded to an accident on N. Langlade Road. The vehicle was in the ditch. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
6:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he swerved to miss a deer on St. Rd. 52 and Gallenberg Road. His pickup was now tipped on its side. A field of oats was damaged. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
10:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject stating that an intoxicated male driver was in a driveway just south of her address on Evergreen Road. She stated that she had spoken with the male subject and she could smell alcohol. Officers then received a call from the female caller’s son. He stated that he was blocking the driveway, so that the male subject could not get out. Officers advised him that he could not do that and he should exit the driveway. Officers told the caller to call them back if the male subject tried to enter his vehicle and leave. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated 2nd offense, operating after revocation, failure to install ignition interlock device and possession of cocaine.
Sunday, July 10th
7:11 PM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital reporting that five subjects came into the hospital and said that they were in an accident. It was a truck versus tree accident. The subjects were driving through Crocker Hill off of Smokey Road near Porky Lane and were going down a hill, when the brakes went out causing them to hit a tree. One passenger had a broken right upper arm and was transported to a different hospital.
Monday, July 11th
7:55 AM Officers received a call from a custodian at White Lake school reporting entry to the school. He found an unlocked door, graffiti on the ceiling and a campfire in the courtyard. Officers spoke with the head custodian. She stated that she left at 7:00 PM on July 10th and everything was normal then. She did also stated that when returning to work after the July 4th weekend, she noticed a screen was removed from a window in the courtyard. Also a door leading to storage in the gym was kicked in. Officers advised them to install a camera system.
Tuesday, July 12th
5:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a male who witnessed a male subject hit a sign and possibly a power pole on Kelly Street. The vehicle was described as a brown and white Ford F150. Officers contacted the Highway Department about the sign. The male driver was cited for no insurance.
