ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 11th
2:23 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for no insurance and warned for speed.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a report of two syringes in the grass near an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers picked them up and destroyed them.
3:35 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of 2nd Avenue and Watson Street. The male driver has citations pending.
10:28 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building all beat up. He stated that he was beat up by another male subject in front of a business on 5th Avenue. Officers arrested the second male subject on a probation hold and he was referred for battery & disorderly conduct.
Tuesday, July 12th
9:23 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The accident involved a Lincoln MKX and a Chevy Silverado. Property damage only.
12:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she captured a stray dog, a chihuahua, on 7/11/16. She had it in a kennel. Officers took the dog to the Humane Society
12:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was mailed a citation for no proof of insurance.
2:16 PM Officers responded to a two car accident at Neva Road and Century Avenue. Property damage only.
3:56 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a female driver in a goldish colored van was whipping donuts and throwing gravel. She then left the business going southbound on Superior Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. They left a message with the vehicle owner to call. Officers spoke with the female driver. She was advised of the complaint and warned.
5:40 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at a business on Neva Road between a GMC Arcadia and a Jeep. Property damage only.
6:29 PM Officers responded to a report of two men fighting at 5th Avenue and Deliglise Street. Officers arrested a subject for disorderly conduct & bail jumping.
6:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her parent’s neighbor backed out of his driveway on Clermont Street and his trailer damaged her car. A voluntary report was filed.
7:14 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Driver was cited for failure to obey a red light.
Wednesday, July 13th
5:56 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed. Traffic education class was offered.
6:41 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Deresch Street. The driver was issued a citation for a stop sign violation. Traffic education class was offered.
10:58 AM Officers received a call from an area business on North Avenue reporting that a camper parked at their business had a window broken out. Officers were advised.
12:39 PM Officers responded to a report of a border collie, tan and white with a shock collar running in the area of 4th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers captured the dog and took it to the Humane Society.
5:16 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they found a packet containing suspected drugs lying on the floor inside of the business. Officers picked up a small bag of marijuana and placed it in evidence.
7:07 PM Officers responded to a report a family in a white van in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 holding a sign asking for money. Officers moved the parties along.
Thursday, July 14th
10:45 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting a suspicious vehicle at Elm Street and Smith Avenue. Officers checked the area. The vehicle was gone.
3:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Arctic Street reporting that he was holding a stray dog with no collar or tags. Officers brought the dog to the Humane Society.
6:36 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Washington Avenue and Neva Road. The driver was issued a citation for speed and expired registration.
Friday, July 15th
12:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was cited for operating without a license. The subjects were advised to have someone pick them up. One of the passengers was the only one that had a driver’s license, but it was probationary with graduated driver’s license restrictions.
5:40 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Forest Road west of Western Avenue. The driver was issued citations for operating after suspension and no proof of insurance and was given a ten day warning for registration.
11:46 AM Officers received a call reporting that a male subject, with a suspended license was driving leaving an address on 2nd Avenue. Officers cited the male subject for operating after suspension.
3:12 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that she has been getting someone else’s mail at her address and she thought that it may be related to having her identity stolen about a year ago. Officers were investigating.
10:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Duchac Street and Dorr Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
Saturday, July 16th
3:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Smith Avenue reporting that she woke up to see a flag that was on her mailbox as well as her mailbox burning. Officers determined that several sparklers were put together and put into the mailbox. The mailbox was completely destroyed. There were no suspects.
10:22 AM Officers received a call from a female subject on Graham Avenue reporting that her silver 2003 Chevy Venture van was stolen. The female came to the Safety Building to fill out a non-consent statement. The vehicle was entered into the National Crime Information Center system.
12:52 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he witnessed a driver not pull over for an ambulance. It was a silver Chevy Silverado. He stated that it happened near Neva Road and Amron Avenue. Officers located the vehicle. They spoke with the male driver. The male thought that since he was in four lanes, he didn’t need to move over. He thought it was a divided highway. Officers informed him that it was not a divided highway and he needed to pull over. He understood and apologized.
6:42 PM Officers responded to a report of a child at Castle Park at Field Street and 6th Avenue with a knife that was being used to cut on wood. Officers found that the child made a couple of scratches in a bench and on the climbing structures. The knife was taken and destroyed. Officers spoke with the child’s father and advised him of the complaint.
8:15 PM Officers responded to a report of a backpack in a dumpster on 5th Avenue with a bag of pills inside. Officers found the pills and placed them in evidence for destruction.
9:59 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a red caravan was swerving on the road. It was driving north on Dorr Street and was north of 10th Avenue. The caller stated that this was 5 to 10 minutes before the call. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Sunday, July 17th
12:30 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for operating without a driver’s license.
1:30 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was issued a citation for violation of graduated driver’s license restrictions and a written warning for speed.
10:24 AM A citation was issued to a female subject from White Lake for theft of library materials. The loss amount was $74.98.
10:26 AM A citation was issued to a male subject from Pickerel for theft of library materials. The loss amount was $105.27.
10:28 AM A citation was issued to a male subject from Antigo for theft of library materials. The loss amount was $50.28.
10:29 AM A citation was issued to a female subject for theft of library materials. The loss amount was $174.78.
Monday, July 18th
12:18 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated 3rd offense, failure to wear a seatbelt, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, July 13th
1:31 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that they just discovered that a burglary had occurred at their business. A sliding door, not used any more, on the east side of the building had been pried open. They were unsure when this occurred. They told officers that they would be taking inventory to see if they were missing anything.
Thursday, July 14th
3:07 PM Officers received a call from a female subject from Elcho reporting that she had received a suspicious text about winning money. The female sent some personal information back, before realizing that it was possibly a scam.
Friday, July 15th
4:36 PM Officers received a call from a janitor at the Elcho school reporting that six juveniles were outside the school and it appears that they were inside the school. They broke into a toy box and toys were tossed around the school. The showers were also left on and the steam had caused some doors to warp. Officers were advised.
5:12 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that a needle was found near a fence and there was a substance in the needle. Officers picked it up.
9:30 PM Officers responded to a call from the head custodian at the Elcho School reporting that a juvenile male subject broke into the school. While the caller was outside of the school, he saw the male subject inside the school. The subject then took off out a different door. When officers arrived, they talked with the caller and two other kids that saw the male subject in the school. A window screen was cut to gain entry. The male subject repeatedly denied being in the school. Officers later received a call from the principal reporting more damage to the school. He stated that approximately 2/3 of the seats in the theatre room were stabbed or slashed with a knife.
10:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that a tan colored Suburban was crossing the centerline and fogline and going 50mph and then down to 20 and 30mph. The vehicle was southbound on Hwy. 45. It then turned west on to Hwy. C and pulled into a wayside. The male driver was arrested for prohibited alcohol content, 5th offense.
Saturday, July 16th
2:52 AM Officers responded to a call from ON Star reporting a crash with air bag deployment on Hwy. 55 and Wolf Road. The vehicle was a 2016 Chevrolet Trax. The male subject was not responding. Officers then received a 2nd 911 call. The female caller reported that she came upon a male subject standing in the roadway. There was a vehicle in the ditch. As the caller slowed down, the male subject hit their window, so they kept going and parked down the road. The caller described the male as in his 30’s with short hair wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans. When officers arrived, the male subject was gone. Officers then received a call from the Langlade Fire Department reporting seeing a male subject matching the description just south of Lily by School Road. The male subject admitted to officers that he was driving the car, got into the accident and walked away. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense and cited for failure to notify police of an accident.
11:59 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive-off of $46.35. The vehicle was described as a gray Ford Super Duty truck with a boat in the back. The driver was described as short, bald and wearing a gray shirt. He was southbound on Hwy. 45. Officers were unable to locate.
9:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting a blue blazer type vehicle crossing the centerline and fog line, traveling at a high rate of speed. It was northbound on Hwy. 45 passing Hwy. 47. Officers talked with the male driver. He was advised of the complaint. He was verbally warned for a defective passenger side tail light and unsafe lane deviation.
Sunday, July 17th
8:15 AM Officers received a call from the head custodian at White Lake school reporting another break-in. It occurred sometime on 7/16. They stole a camera worth $100 and some food and water was taken from the kitchen. Everything else appeared fine.
9:19 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he just pulled a vehicle out of the ditch on W. Elcho Road south of 5 Cent Road, after a male subject flagged him down. The vehicle was a dark brown or black Ford Explorer. There was a female on the scene and a 3 month old baby in the vehicle. When officers arrived, the female and baby were still at the scene. The male subject took off when he learned that the Sheriff’s department was called. The vehicle was towed. Officers were unable to locate the male subject. He was cited for operating after revocation & possible other charges. Probation was notified.
Tuesday, July 19th
2:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on W. 5th Avenue reporting that an intoxicated man was banging on their back door. She stated that her husband went outside with him. Officers located a motor vehicle accident at that address. A mailbox was damaged. The driver and any possible passengers took off on foot. Officers were able to follow tracks east of the scene through the field, but lost them when they crossed W. 5th Avenue. Male voices could be heard in the area of a large corn field. There were no signs of distress or injury. The female caller stated that the male subject smelled like alcohol and possibly “pot.” Officers completed a state report, citations pending if the driver is identified.
4:24 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that her husband just called her saying that he just struck a cow near Hwy T and Hwy. TT. The caller stated that he was not injured. She had no additional information. The vehicle was towed.
12:03 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on School Street in White Lake reporting the theft of a trailer from their summer home. The theft occurred between 7/13/16 and 7/19/16. The trailer was parked on the side of the home by a shed, not visible from the road. It was used for transporting a 4-wheeler. Officers were given a description of the trailer, valued at $500. A padlock on the tongue was cut. Pictures were provided to officers. There were no suspects.
2:29 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Superior Street. The male subject was arrested – operating after revocation/operating while intoxicated related, failure to install ignition interlock device, Shawano County Sheriff’s office warrant, Department of Corrections warrant & a probation hold.
7:45 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a female driver in a maroon Toyota or Honda that left Enterprise Lake Road 30 minutes prior that was driving all over the roadway towards Hwy. 45. The vehicle hit the gravel and was going over the centerline. Officers checked the area. They were unable to locate the vehicle.
Wednesday, July 20th
6:59 AM Officers responded to a report of numerous syringes lying on the ground near an area business on Hwy. 45. Officers picked up the needles and syringes and disposed of them.
